Bad sleep, super hard beds, old hotel.

I booked the room for 3 nights under a non Accor website. When I reached the hotel, I asked for a topper for the bed as IBIS bed are “wood hard”. The receptionist, a man with grey and white hair, immediately said: “we have finished out topper for the hotel”. (Proves their beds are hard). I then said oh how? No reply and I then said: “you mean I have to sleep in a hard bed”? He then said maybe can provide an extra duvet or blanket. I said ok for duvet as it can be used to lay on the bed. Am surprised they actually can run out of toppers! I asked for a quiet room in my booking. Was given one away from lifts but with lots of road noises. Also, it was beside the housekeeping lifts which was super noisy with huge trolley noises early in the morning and also into past midnight! Sleep was bad then. Room was dirty and had very visible clusters of dusts and rusts and broken parts! See the pictures. It’s certainly below 3 star. More like a hostel stay. Check out was smooth though.

We will review our inventory to ensure we have enough available in the future, while we purchase new toppers on a regular basis. Please accept my apologies regarding the way you have been treated by our receptionist. We usually receive positive comments on how friendly and helpful they are. I am sure it is a sole case which does not reflect our usual service standard. I have instructed my Front Office Manager to provide focus training to ensure that the team member is better equipped to deliver a courteous service. Room assignments vary based on availability, but we always strive to accommodate requests. It is with regret to learn that the room and soundproofing do not match your expectations and may I suggest you contact our staff for a room change and we will do our best to assist as long as there is room available. Regarding cleanliness, we take your comments seriously and will address this issue with our housekeeping team to ensure our standards are met, however I am sorry if you were let down on this occasion. This hotel is well located to access and the surrounding facilities are convenient. Sarah at the front is a very friendly staff. Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy a very comfortable trip. If you are planning to visit Hong Kong, I recommend this hotel.

Cs Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

Check in and check out was good and we got late check out and upgraded. Location is ok and close to tram stop and 15 mins walk to metro station(s) is ok. However we are disappointed with the aged equipment, like the AC and fridge are quite noisy. Most important is we found a short curly hair on the bed side table.

The Ibis is one of the cheapest hotels in Hong Kong, so it was a bonus to us if we found it comfortable, quiet and nicely located. That’s exactly what we found, we slept well, found the beds comfortable and the location is great for all lines Mtr’s, the macau ferry and there’s a ding ding tram stop within 50m or so. The shower was powerful, which was good for waking us up in the morning! There is a Starbucks within the hotel to grab on the go or to relax on returning. The Hong Kong MTR station is good for Disney, Big Buddha, etc and one tip is to turn right out of the hotel and cross the road via the first elevated walkway/bridge around 100m away. You can then walk the entire journey undercover via the raised walkway, which will keep you out of the hot sun or torrential rain to the station… There was a lot of rain whilst we were there, so this was a good find! Loads of eateries just a short walk away towards Sheung Wan station and beyond and you very quickly stumble upon the main city within 10mins. Great stay, would recommend for those on a strict budget!
