Thought the rooms themselves were beautiful, as was the view. Including from the rooftop. Excellent access to dry cleaners and metro nearby. So great to stay at such a relaxing, clean hotel in such a bustling part of Hong Kong.

Problem started at early check in. American Express Travel allowed for free upgrades when available, two complementary breakfasts per room per day stay, and $100 spending per stay. Offered paid upgrades but not free, differed from AE Travel incentives; pay upgrade offer rejected. Then came the two free breakfast issue. Staff has no knowledge the breakfast is per room basis, and mentioned charge for the second person coming for breakfast. After clarification by me, and the staff checked with management, I’m told this issue was resolved. Unfortunately, the breakfasts were charged anyway to my room. It was resolved eventually and the charges removed, but not without more time wasted and more aggravations at checkout. The third more minor issue was the $100 complementary spending is very limited.

We are conducting additional training for the team members involved, as well as the whole team, to ensure that our service standards remain consistent and that such errors do not occur again. This is our first time to stay at Mondrian HK, the location is great and the room design is clever with super nice harbour view.

I think the staffs were great, I really appreciate the staff that assisted me with the early check in on the day of my arrival, she was a solid 10. However, I'd like to share a separate experience that was extremely uncomfortable... on my first night around 3-4am in the morning all the lights in my room randomly turned on. I confirmed with my sister who was staying with me, she did not turn on any lights. On the second night, the bathroom light that I typically leave on actually got shut off and my bedside lamp was turned on around 3-4am. Again, no one in my room touched any lighting as we were both sleeping. Come my last night, I was so glad the lights were finally left alone, however, the shower was randomly turned on around similar time 3-4am. Again, no one in my room touched anything as we were sleeping. This is an extremely spooky and uncomfortable experience as I've never encountered anything like this ever in my life. This room truly feels haunted.

However, I am concerned to hear about the discomfort you experienced during the night. Please rest assured that we have taken your comments very seriously and conducted a full investigation into the incidents you described involving the lighting and the shower. Following our review, I would like to share that the experiences you mentioned are entirely unprecedented; we have had no similar reports from other guests or even teammates as prior to opening the hotel all the guest rooms are used for teammates to check and experience the hotel before we open to our guest. As our hotel is very new and has recently undergone a comprehensive renovation and we are open to guest from December 2023, all electrical and plumbing systems are modern and were recently commissioned to the highest standards. Your comfort and peace of mind is our top priorities. While we have not found any technical or historical explanations for these events, we remain committed to ensuring every guest feels safe and relaxed in our care. Loved the welcome by Linda and team. However service during the stay was a bit hit and miss, at times exceptional and at many times very poor.
