No parking space, as call 2 days before to reserve. Sunday brunch fully book. Swimming pool fully book. No power socket near bed, most unacceptable. The staffs not helping at all, just rejected all my requests. Worst experience since as a member of Accor, will never consider anothor stay in this hotel on future.

My girlfriend and I are workoholic. But we need a holiday! During the long panDEMic, we decided to have a trip in Tung Chung and Tai O. So Novotel was our choice. Our stay was enjoyable and i could say more than PERFECT which proofed we made a great choice. A very sweet and bubbly welcome from hotel GM. Our room was decent with a fantastic view looking at the cable car, mountain, sea and HK Int'l airport. So considerate to make us felt we were tourists, we were on holiday :D The bathroom was spacious. The bed was so comfy, we slept like babies. The wifi speedy was real good! We had the time out but we needed to get some work done, the wifi supported us very well. We have been to Olea and buffet breakfast. Food at Olea was pretty good, but service wise, definitely have room to improve. Buffet breakfast was so good in food and beverage varieties. Our stay was on weekdays but we found the guests flow was good, not empty also not overly crowded. I enjoyed the vibes. Novotel is in super convenient location, it just so close by of where we wanted to go. Tai O, shopping in Citygate, hiking etc. Our stay was not enough time for us to enjoy the hotel. For sure I will stay at Novotel again with my family next time.

We stayed at Novotel Citygate Hotel for a Father’s Day staycation June 2021. I rated this hotel 10/10 because first and foremost, the staff provided excellent customer service. It was definitely next level; from booking, to the email exchanges, the staff at the reception, the restaurants, room service, the pool area, even the person answering the phone up to the general manager, Mr. Gallas have been absolutely amazing. Every staff we encountered in this hotel were genuinely pleasant. They were able to accommodate my requests and even went beyond expectation. This gave my whole family a truly remarkable stay. The suite we stayed in was also astounding. It was grand and spacious with an amazing view. We forgot that we were in Hong Kong looking at the view of the city, sea and mountains. I also loved the fact that room was luxurious yet sustainable. (Toothbrushes etc are provided upon request to reduce waste so we packed our own). There are lots of options for eating in this hotel as well, plus it’s conveniently located within the citygate outlet mall and close to mtr and bus stations. You can go shopping, hiking or check out the nearby attractions (cable car to big buddha, nearby islands). Due to the pandemic and travel restrictions, our family frequently go on staycations all over Hong Kong and Novotel Citygate Hotel gave us the best staycation experience so far. Wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely recommend to our friends, and we will surely come back again!

Had a warm welcome with my son when we checked in. He loved the toy gift and that was a real nice touch. Fast and the overall experience was really pleasant. Room was great and attention to details were spot on. Turnover was as good the following day. The concierge team even helped decorate the room for my son’s birthday. Staycation for one evening

As an Accor member, we were not greeted in the best way. Upon arrival to the front desk, we lined up at the priority check in, in addition to having completed online check in. One of the staff (later found out she is called Theresa) came and said, "line up over there, no one is serving this line" without any eye contact. If that check in counter is shut for members, shouldn't there be a sign to indicate that? Even if that counter is not operating, the staff could ask guests kindly to use the rest of the lines to line up. If online check in does not make any difference to the check in process, then why should guest waste time to complete online check in prior to the arrival?

The hotel is not clean

I find the toilet is dirty which the walls has got moldy and the room has some smell. And cannot make the booking of the meals for buffet which make me disappointed. The slippers can be improved which give better quality.

Meal arrangement was disappointing

I’ve booked romantic package direct with the hotel at $1388, inclusive of dinner and breakfast buffet. But my experience was very disappointing. 1. I presume there is lowest price guarantee through direct booking with hotel, but it wasn’t. The price was lowered through booking with KLook which was $1188. When I sounded this out, nothing changed. 2. I requested high floor, but I was given a middle level floor, and at first assigned a room facing directly the residential buildings. When I requested for a change, another better view one was given. I presume that the hotel will firstly provide a better room to member, but not when upon request. 3. The worst experience was the meal arrangement! We, and other guests, had to line up and wait for 30 minutes before serving a table for the dinner buffet! And the restaurant was too full that guests had to line up a long queue to get food. I was totally annoyed with such arrangement and without the desire for the food. Same situation for breakfast time, though the waiting time to get a table was a bit shortened, but the queues for all the popular food, such as omelette, was too long for anyone to wait! The reception staff were friendly, but the management was poor and arrangement disappointing!

I have extended the room check out to 4pm. However, there is terrible noise due to renovation starting from noon. The noise keeping going to 3pm. This is unpleasant and i wont extent if notice in advance.

Need more training to the staff

We can't see any smile from all the front desk staff. We have a welcome drink coupon to have a drink at the buffet restaurant. When we entered the restaurant before 9:00pm there was no staff to take care of us. We had searched a waitress to tell here we would like to have a drink here, she said the restaurant will close at 10:00pm, that means we are not welcome. She told us to wait. We waited for 10 mins. Finally, we can sit down and have a drink, but we have a bad feeling on it.
