Avoid this hotel. You cannot trust the word of registration desk personnel, in my case I requested info whether breakfast is included, answer was yes. My original reservation document had disappeared. Four times, on different mornings, I requested this same information and answer was yes. In the end of stay it was not and we were asked to pay €27/person which is very expensive and not worth it! Do not trust the personnel, they cheat you. Service was non-attentive and dull, customer is always wrong here.

Novotel Wien City was great, it was well located, near principal city attractions, and service was great. We asked for a crib for our baby and it was done right away. They have a space in the lobby for the children with games and a TV, so it was very helpful.

Overall, this stay did not reflect Accor service standards nor the level of care expected for a Platinum guest. The lack of professionalism, cleanliness issues, safety concerns, and absence of loyalty recognition are unacceptable.

Reception/lounge/bar area was chaotic with people queueing, people sprawled across chairs and children running backwards and forwards or rolling on the floor. Decor is brash and cheap looking. Room decor is similar. Very little space for clothes; no drawers or shelves. Mattress was probably 'memory foam', thus it remembered the outline of every person who had ever slept in it! We kept rolling into the middle of the bed. Towels were cheap and thin and constantly felt cold and damp as there was no heated towel rail. The only way to heat the bathroom was to leave open the door to the bedroom all the time so that heat drifted through. The drains in the bathroom smelled of stale water. Room was adequately clean. Reception staff were efficient on check-in, but not once did we receive a greeting or a smile on entering or leaving the hotel.

We choose this holiday because it was close to Prater and the City. I appreciated the staff speaking in English even though I could have managed in German. It always smelled clean when we entered and our room was always cleaned very well.
