Sink was blocked informed reception but was never cleared. Had a late checkout 14.00 and do not desturb signg on but housekeeping never knocked and came in. Luckily I was by the door so I could say I was in the room as I was naked after having a shower. What happened to knock Knock housekeeping?

the bed sheets didnt seem cleaned. There were no spots, but the duvet was with perfum and pillow with some smell as well. also in the table on top of the fridge there were some spots of something spilled. Staff was nice and location of hotel is good.

The location is great. Close enough by foot to the busier areas and bars, you can enjoy the nightlife without having to listen to it. With a new bus route as well, a few feet from the hotel, getting around is easy. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bar layout was really nice with a self-serve wine bar and small terrace. There is even a bee hive, we saw a beekeeper our first morning. The staff were excellent, so helpful, and friendly. They all spoke excellent English which was helpful to our broken German. Given our visit was the last week of September and we’re not expecting it to be so warm (25 degrees each day), it would have been nice to have the air conditioning on but we made due with the open window. There were a few nights that were more warm and uncomfortable but I can understand why the hotel would turn off the cold air given the time of year.

The size of the rooms, sheets, towels are all a good fit. Hotel is located in the proximity of the company I work for, so this is a big plus. I have been visiting this hotel for the past couple of years. But I had a surprise at my previous stay in March that the window was not closing properly and even though the issue was known to the staff, they gave me the room and waited that I contact them about it. Now in September I was given a room on the 1st floor, right above the entrance and it was really noisy due to street traffic and guests gathering until late night outside. Although the hotel was renovated not long ago, the room did not seam to have any special soundproof windows or similar arrangements.

LOVED the location of this hotel - a short walk across the canal to escape the hordes of tourists near Stephensplatz. Room was very nice and well appointed, we lacked for nothing. There are a few good restaurants in the area - try the carbonara at Sofare, one of the best I've ever had.

Our room was small but had all that we needed, including a refrigerator. The decor and amenities were welcoming and attractive. The hotel is a short walk along the waterfront to a metro station and several tram stops, so even though we were outside central Vienna, it was always a quick walk or ride to anywhere in the city.

The room had air-conditioning but was fixed at 23C by the hotel. I spoke to the reception and the use of a fan was offered. Their advertising should not show AC if it is not variable. The problem was exacerbated after showering and then my wife drying her hair. Very uncomfortable room experience. The next problem is the lift. We were on the 4th floor. The hotel only has two lifts, one at each end of the building. The more heavily used one is in reception. With there only being one lift each floor only has a lift call button, which is not a down button. Somebody going from ground to a floor above us will stop at out floor and all floors where the call button has been pressed. This makes for an exceptionally slow process at busy times. I have spent much of my working career in hotels rooms and understand the relationship between cost and luxury. I believed for the money I paid I was going to receive functioning AC where I had control of the temperature and practical lifts. I didn't find the staff I interacted particularly helpful or warm. To be clear they were never rude or impolite, just a little functional. I have stayed many times in Mercure hotels and have to say this was the most disappointing and I will steer clear of the brand in future unless I have no option.

Great stay in a perfect location for shopping. Quiet and comfortable. Pleasant helpful staff. On arrival we got in the elevator to the 4th floor and unfortunately the elevator broke down immediately with the doors stuck. The staff were quick to help and we were not stuck for long. The elevator took us straight up to the 7th floor and then back down to the 4th. We didn’t use this elevator again although we were assured that it was fixed. Luckily they have two so it was ok.

For the first time i had a very bad experience ! Far away from 4 star Mercure standing!!!We book 2 standards rooms ( only this type was available). Small room, dirty carpet , cleaning is average ,tiny and ugly bathroom,inconfortable pillows,old AC and dusty!!! No complimentary welcome water in the rooms or slippers, for ironing your clothes you have to go in the lobby so exposed and embarrassing!!! The hotel is close to the center ,good location ,breakfast average.

Clean room, quiet corridors, helpful staff. Did not eat on site but it looker welcoming and clean in the breakfast area. Bed was comfy. Good range of toiletries for convenience. Clean towels and a great sleep
