I hadn’t quite anticipated that the hotel was over the rail station, so the trains were noisy if you’re a light sleeper. Our shower was basic but overall the hotel was central, clean and ideal for a short stay.

The Ibis Amsterdam hotel in the city center boasts a fantastic location, conveniently close to many attractions, and offers very affordable rates. However, the hotel's lobby decor, subpar paint job, and the provision of paper cups and inexpensive beds in the rooms, along with the jeans and casual clothing of staff members and the breakfast quality, give it more the feel of a hostel than a hotel. Despite its proximity to the train station, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. The rooms are reasonably clean, and the price and location are undeniably attractive. As I spent most of my time sightseeing, the lack of luxury amenities was not a significant concern but still could be improved.
