The staff was helpful, but the amenities and the place looked really rundown. The kids' pool was closed for maintenance over the whole weekend. Not that many activities for kids

I recently stayed at Mama Shelter Dubai for 5 nights, and it was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had—primarily due to extremely poor service and unprofessional staff behavior. From the start, the room allocation was disappointing. I was given a room facing construction, which completely ruined the experience. When I requested a room change or even a paid upgrade, the front desk staff bluntly refused, claiming the hotel was fully booked. This was clearly not true—the hotel was practically empty during my stay, with barely a handful of guests visible except on Saturday night. It felt dishonest and dismissive. Service levels were equally frustrating. Something as basic as requesting cutlery took over 20 minutes, with the excuse that occupancy was “high”—again, completely inaccurate. This pattern of excuses became the norm whenever assistance was requested. The staff’S. attitude was another major issue. They were consistently rude, lacked basic hospitality etiquette, and hid behind “hotel policy” instead of offering solutions. A particularly unacceptable incident was when I asked reception to hold a parcel for me briefly. The so-called manager arrogantly refused, boasting about his “20 years of experience in Dubai” and stating they don’t handle guest parcels. This is far below standard practice for any reputable hotel. The room design itself is also poorly thought out. The layout, especially the bathroom/toilet setup, is inconvenient and not user-friendly, adding to the overall frustration. What makes this even more disappointing is that the hotel is part of the Accor group, where one would expect a certain level of professionalism and service quality. Unfortunately, this property falls far short. I stayed the full 5 nights hoping things would improve—they didn’t. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely not be returning.

staff are super friendly and helpful , location is good . swimming pool had no facilities ( no towels , no assistance there , pool bar / restaurant was closed ) . soo many kinds in the pool even inside adults pool . the rooms r really small & the shower area design could have been much better rather than a small closed box . overall rooms cleanliness is great , lobby and restaurant design are very beautiful ,
