I had to call front desk twice just to clean my room even purchased with premium category. After complaints twice about not getting hot water in bathtub, they never sent technician in the room. Also, breakfast was okay. They make kachori without any filling. Overall experience was not up to the mark.

We were given a room that was till recent out of service (as mentioned by the staff itself) even though we had booked well in advance. AC was not functioning, fan was not working well and the fire alarm went off, because someone else was smoking in their room, with our room right next to the alarm. We consistently asked for room change which the team denied saying hotel was sold out even though multiple rooms were showing up on Accor app. We asked to speak to manager who successfully dodged all evening.

We concluded our Goa family trip with a two-day stay at the Grand Mercure Candolim, and unfortunately, we deeply regretted the decision. Having previously stayed at the IBIS Calangute and the Novotel Dona Sylvia, we found the Grand Mercure to be a significant step down in service and quality. ​The Issues: ​Inconsistent Room Quality: We checked in late (10 PM) to Room 1207. While we were told we were upgraded and saw a nice floral welcome on the bed, the room itself was problematic. The AC was faulty—despite setting it to 24°C, it would drop to 17°C on its own during the night, which was concerning with our 5-month-old baby. ​Poor Service & Amenities: We requested scissors three times in the morning and waited two hours for them to arrive. Furthermore, the shower gel in 1207 appeared heavily diluted. While a note in the room mentioned "sustainability" as a reason for missing amenities, we realized this was a service failure when we moved to Room 1208 and found it fully stocked with a hairdryer, robes, and high-quality shower gel. ​Technical Failures: The Wi-Fi in the first room was unusable (2-4 Mbps). It took three hours for the staff to address the issue by moving us to Room 1208, where the speed was finally acceptable (30 Mbps). ​Dining: We opted for a half-board plan. While the breakfast was decent, the dinner buffet was mediocre and not worth the upgrade. ​Verdict: We would have been much happier staying at the IBIS. I cannot recommend this property based on the poor maintenance and inconsistent service.
