From the moment I emailed asking for an early check in, I knew this place wasn't going to be good. I received no reply and upon arrival, the guy on the front desk asked my name and indicated he recognised it. I was told that because the hotel was fully booked (it wasn't) that I wouldn't be able to check in until 1pm. The room was adequate, the bed was comfy, the fittings in the bathroom appeared to have been installed by the same useless guy on the front desk and the noise proofing was non-existent. I could hear the TV and talking from the room next door and noise in the corridor regularly. The ladies on reception were nice and the location is pretty good, not far from bus stops that are well connected and right opposite a nice park, but for the price I paid, I'm disappointed. The icing on the cake came from the cockroach in the room that didn't contribute at all to the cost.

Great location and nicely laid out room with all the amenities we wanted. Would have been good to know where to park and check in as impossible to pull over on Broadway. Directions to parking would have made our arrival so much more relaxed.

Receptionist was lovely; checked us in quickly, provided restaurant recommendations and was able to fix an issue with my card on the second night quickly - Best part of the stay. Room, bathroom and linens were clean. Pillows felt like they were made of fairy floss. So soft they may as well have not been there, had to wrap the blanket up and use that instead. Water pressure from the shower was very pour and the hot water would come and go multiple times over a short shower. Extraction vent in the corridor was incredibly loud, I took a video to show my colleagues of it was unbelievable. Very poor airflow in the room (no air conditioner) so needed to open the window (which didn't make much difference because it's right above a hot and noisy air-conditioning unit (clearly not for my room).
