Mercure Pakenham has always been our first choice of stay as it is close to our family. Even despite, some toiletries not replaced and we had to ask for it, which can be an oversight we understand. We were so happy to hear that hot breakfast was served for breakfast. However, was disappointed the way the breakfast was charged. When we checked in, we were told we can pre-book buffet breakfast at $25 per person, so we did and had breakfast the next morning. Few days later, we decided we should support the restaurant by eating there, that way it will continue to run the business because both times we were there, it was practically empty. When we checked out the invoice was emailed to us. I had a look at the invoice when i got home and realised the restaurant charged us $32 per person for breakfast the 2nd time around.??? We are hotel guest; shouldn’t we be charged the same price of $25 per person. The lady and man at the restaurant conveyed excellent service. That we give credit. On the Invoice I realised that we were charged $1800.41 and $50.70 on the check in which I believe covered the full accommodation and the first breakfast. (these charges was deducted from my credit card) Looking further down on the invoice I realised I was charged $114 on the last day we checked out which looks like $50 + $64?? So we invoiced for 3 breakfast ?? Very disappointing.
