Stayed for my husbands 50th birthday - made special by the attention of the staff who acknowledged this by delivering a complimentary cake and wine to the room. At dinner also provided complimentary glass of champagne. Also spa staff acknowledged this special occasion and made experience really special. On first night we only wanted simple food and the hotel is quiet isolated - consierge kindly drove us 5 min up the road and back which was greatly appreciated and a lovely touch. Hotel is lovely - few minor details needing attention: The plug in the bath did not properly close and so had to keep filling the bath. TV cast did not work on first night - resolved the next day. Request for firmer pillows in evening had to ask a couple of times as housekeeping was shut and then only one pillow brought. All minor issues dealt with well by staff. Would suggest pillow option could be asked on arrival, also when showing room maybe better explanation on how TV and lights work for those who are less technically minded! Breakfast in El Faro restaurant was great with good variety of high quality food. Dinner in El Faro was even better, delicious and service was particularly good. Spa was wonderful however steam room was not working on arrival and had to go back to reception to report. Would suggest there is a way to communicate to reception from spa or have more staff presence. Also an explanation of the spa would have been beneficial as once steam room was operational we realised the nordic spa and salt room also wasnt 'turned on' (we didnt go back again to report). Spa was empty so maybe that is why these things had not been checked - would suggest staff check all is operational prior to guests arriving. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would definately recommend, particularly for a special occasion.

The Hotel is really nice, the staff at the spa its super attentive. It was a relaxing experience. The area of the restaurant El Faro is lacking on quality food and service ( not all Service as we did got some nice staff but others didn't knew anything about the menu ) Im Celiac and she didn't let the kitchen know and all the food was served with Gluten even if the menu said it was Gluten free.

A very relaxing stay in a wonderful suite with great views . A super luxurious soa . Friendly staff who were helpful but need some training .
