A bit too much bling for my tastes and too far away from centre to make sightseeing easy or, if you've been out for the day, to go anywhere else for dinner. They say they have many restaurants but they actually seem to rotate when they're open so in effect we only had a choice of two for dinner and of course they are quite pricey. Breakfasts are excellent - huge choice of juices, fruits, breads etc, though other things rather more focused on the sweet/pastries side than savoury. Millions of exquisitely presented buns, cakes, biscuits - platters constantly refilled as any were taken so they always looked full and pristine. Freshly cooked eggs were fine, if not the best I've had. But was pleased to see good yogurt, chia 'pudding' and a very nice ricotta-style (I presume local) cheese. My friend who drinks gallons of tea would have preferred a pot instead of having to keep asking for another cup and actually the same applies to the coffee - not very big cups so over a long leisurely breakfast, it was a bit irritating to have to keep asking for another cup. But service at breakfast particularly was terrific. Could have done without the incessant repetitive Moroccan mandolin (oud?) played live throughout the meal and the 30 or so second video of the hotel facilities on a loop on a big screen (or was that just at dinner in the same room, called Crudo?). Bathroom: On the plus side, two generous-sized wash basins, scales and, best of all, an illuminated make up mirror at a height one could actually see into (they're usually much too high up - positioned for tall men, not women of less than 5' 4"). But the shampoo and conditioner were only accessible from the shower so useless if you wanted to wash your hair in the wash basin as I prefer to do. And the bin was on one side not between the sinks so only really accessible to one person. The hose in the toilet was leaking and we had to call for someone to replace it and there was a constant high-pitched ringing sound in there. Bedroom: Spacious but the headboard is fixed to the wall with lights and plugs etc fixed so that you couldn't really move the bed (or twin beds in our case) which was a problem because it was so close to the wardrobe that you could hardly open one of the doors and certainly couldnt open the drawer in one side of it. Other drawers designed as an old-fashioned trunk were too high up to be reachable (style over substance). The garden room was disappointing - the sun doesnt come close enough to the patio for sunbathing and the floor of the garden part is rough gravel with moss so not pleasant to walk on and the plants not cared for. Hotel really too far from centre if you wanted to dip in and out of main sights and really hard to get passing taxis so dependent on overpriced hotel taxis which had to be ordered in advance. Also it's stuck high up on a hill so walking in the area not inviting, and the hotel's garden (the so-called Forest Walk) is OK but nothing special and certainly not enough for walkers. Most staff very pleasant and relatively efficient except on arrival when slow to check us in and took ages (and three phonecalls) to get soap and extra hangers in the room.

Great property, wonderful location. Overall our stay was what we needed to relax and unwind and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Decor seemed a step below palatial but was tasteful. Food was edible. Service exceptional. Spa massage wonderful - Ferdaouss gave an excellent massage.

Restful and Relaxing visit to Tangier. Staff service was a bit slow in responding to Room Service for towels or water. Could be improved greatly.

So much potential wasted. Room was pretty but bathroom shower terrible. Sunken shower room shared with extremely high step into bathtub. Shower area designed with 2-3 inch deep lip with a huge drain that did NOT drain. Enough of obstruction that water level rose 2 inches throughout whole shower. Tried to fix, determine if obstruction but could not readily diagnose. As it was 2300 at night when showering, did not call for assistance. Who wants to move rooms or wait for maintenance at that time of night? Do NOT understand how housekeeping would not appreciate drainage issue when cleaning shower room as drainage issue immediate. Ate dinner in “ formal” dining room which is a speakeasy. Even when staff provided directions, could NOT find restaurant. Please note there is NO signage, music, etc after walking a long hallway with other unidentified doors. Had to return to reception to get 2nd explanation about restaurants location. Very frustrating. In addition, hotel website describes restaurant as more formal however service was NOT formal. We had multiple courses during our meal and were not allowed to have new silverware! Received upgraded room (VERY nice/ grateful) but view room was completely obstructed by tree.
