Overall, I was very disappointed by our stay. Check-in was terrible, and my Diamond privileges were not honored. We received no welcome amenities in our room. Additionally, the AC in our room did not work, which made it very difficult to sleep.
On a more positive note, the pool and beach were great, as was the kids' club. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly, as were the concierges. However, the reception team needs significant improvement.

I chose this hotel mainly because a friend who had stayed there previously recommended it, mentioning the beautiful sea view from the pool. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case during our stay, as the hotel was carrying out construction work. Since we visited a week before the official start of the summer season, we didn't get the full experience.

Great place despite few technical issues at the check in with the air conditioning not working in our room. Were moved to another rooms away from our kids but was ok. The new room had an issue with the door lock that needed a technician to fix. The shower in the kids rooms was blocked and staff had to come to unclog it. Despite all this we liked the location and the staff professionalism.
Breakfast was great at the hotel and the beach food service was great

our bathroom flooded as the newly remodeled shower drains improperly. hotel did not offer compensation, i ask breakfast to be comped and they declined. only allowing us to check our at 12.30 vs 11. Overall service in restaurants was poor. But the hotel was beautiful.

Sofitel Tamuda Bay is a comfortable hotel with high level service, known to us already.
Unfortunately this time, there were construction works busy, which limited the overal experience, especially at beach/pool side.
Might be worthwhile mentioning upon time of booking.
Good food and drinks selection, we enjoyed multiple room service and all great dishes. (except for the risotto with seasonal vegetables, this was below Sofitel standard, as almost no vegetables)
Breakfast is great.

We stayed in a beachfront suite for three nights, paying approximately €1,500 including breakfast for two adults and a baby. While there were some positive aspects, the overall experience fell significantly below the standards expected from the Sofitel brand—especially for guests who frequently stay at Sofitel properties worldwide.
From the outset, service reliability was inconsistent. On multiple occasions, we made requests to reception and were assured they would be handled promptly. In reality, requests were often forgotten, delayed, or only executed after repeated follow-ups. This reflects a clear lack of operational discipline and management oversight.
Upon arrival at 15:40 (despite a 15:00 check-in time), our room had no running water. We were unable to use basic facilities, including the toilet. Reception informed us that a technician would arrive within ten minutes—this did not happen, and I had to return again to escalate the issue. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a five-star property.
Hygiene standards were particularly concerning. During our stay, we found three cockroaches inside the room, which appeared to originate from within. In addition, we discovered significant mold on the walls—only on the final day, unfortunately. Had we identified this earlier, we would not have remained in the room. Mold poses a serious health risk, particularly for a baby, and its presence in a room at this price level is inexcusable.
The suite’s “jacuzzi” was not functional and effectively served as a standard bathtub. On our final day, it was filled with small insects despite daily cleaning, raising serious concerns about maintenance and sanitation protocols.
Sleep quality throughout the stay was extremely poor. While the beach is public—which in itself is not an issue—there were groups of الشباب making excessive noise every night, making it impossible to sleep before approximately 1:00 AM. We raised this with staff, but no effective action was taken. Additionally, one night the emergency exit light inside our room activated unexpectedly, illuminating the entire room and making sleep impossible. Over three nights, we did not have a single night of proper rest.
The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The music selection was completely inappropriate—loud children’s songs followed by high-energy tracks such as drum and bass. This created an uncomfortable and chaotic atmosphere where guests could not relax. It is difficult to understand how such a basic element of guest experience is so poorly managed, especially when simple, suitable alternatives are readily available.
To be fair, the property itself is visually beautiful, the staff are consistently polite and welcoming, and the spa facilities are of good quality. However, these positives are overshadowed by fundamental management failures.
This hotel does not suffer from a lack of potential—it suffers from poor execution. A serious overhaul in management and operational standards is required.
Overall: unacceptable for the Sofitel brand and not reflective of the price paid.
