Dear Hotel Manager, I am writing to urgently bring to your attention a serious safety incident that occurred in my room (1212) at Sofitel Tamuda Bay Beach & Spa, which resulted in a painful injury and a major disruption to my stay. After taking a shower, the bathroom floor became completely flooded, and water spread into the bedroom area. I was forced to use several towels to dry the floor myself — something that should never occur in a five-star hotel. Shortly afterward, I slipped and fell very hard on my back due to the water leakage. I remained on the floor, unable to move, for more than ten minutes until my husband assisted me. I am still experiencing severe pain in my back and leg. Why This Requires Immediate Action This incident is not a minor inconvenience; it represents a major safety failure within the hotel’s maintenance and hazard-prevention standards. The flooding in the bathroom indicates: A critical failure in guest safety Lack of preventive maintenance and inspection Absence of proper hazard detection A breach of international five-star hospitality safety standards As a luxury five-star hotel, Sofitel is expected to uphold the highest global standards. However, in this situation, even the most basic safety conditions were not met. Because of this failure, I suffered: A violent and painful fall Severe physical pain and limited mobility Emotional distress A major interruption of my holiday A loss of trust in the hotel’s safety and maintenance standards This was clearly a structural or maintenance defect, not a guest-related error, which means the responsibility for safe room conditions lies fully with the hotel. Requested Actions (Internal & Amicable Resolution) I want to resolve this matter internally and amicably with the hotel, without involving external or international authorities, provided that the situation is handled seriously, professionally, and fairly. Accordingly, I respectfully request: Immediate opening of an internal Incident Report, with a stamped written copy provided to me. Coverage for any medical evaluation or treatment required as a result of this injury. A fair and reasonable financial compensation reflecting: The physical pain The emotional distress The disruption and negative impact on my holiday A thorough review and corrective action regarding the bathroom’s drainage and safety system to prevent future incidents. Important Note I want to emphasize respectfully that my intention is to resolve this matter directly and amicably with the hotel management. However, given the seriousness of the incident and its impact, I must also be transparent that — if the matter is not handled appropriately — I may need to consider further steps through the appropriate international channels. I sincerely hope that this will not be necessary and that we can reach a fair and satisfactory resolution before my departure. Thank you very much for your urgent attention to this matter. This is the most well run, relaxing, clean and well designed hotel - the staff are friendly, attentive and efficient, the hotel is sparkling clean, the amenities (gym, spa, pools, restaurants) are all excellent, and the whole vibe oozes relaxed elegance. This is my second time here, and has become an all time favorite. It is a great hotel run by wonderful staff in a perfect location for vacations. You do not need to leave the hotel if you don’t want to, everything you need is right here… each room has a superb view of the beach, which has a calm, clear ocean stretching out into the distance. All in all. Amazing!
