Swissotel is an excellent property overall and, on paper, a great place for a quiet yet fun-filled family stay. The hotel infrastructure, amenities, and intent are clearly aligned with families, and that deserves appreciation. The kids’ and teenage club areas are genuinely impressive. They are well thought through, well equipped, and have enough activities to keep children engaged and entertained for hours — one of the strongest highlights of the hotel. Breakfast at the restaurant is another positive. The spread is generous, service is excellent, and the quality of ingredients is good. Dinner, while limited in menu options, maintains good quality standards. The indoor pool deserves a special mention — it is huge and comes with sauna, steam, and a cold-water pool. Easily one of the largest and most enjoyable parts of the hotel and a major reason to choose this property. Unfortunately, despite all these positives, a few serious service issues left a sour taste and ultimately ruined our overall experience. A fruit plate left in the room had visibly rotten fruit (apples), while some other fruits were fine. Since we were already settled in, we chose not to raise the issue, but it was disappointing and unexpected from a hotel of this standard. The biggest letdown happened on the morning of our departure. We were leaving early for the airport and had discussed breakfast arrangements in advance. Despite having paid for a stay for three people, the takeaway breakfast provided contained only two sandwiches. There was no explanation or apology. When my wife asked if coffee could be included in the breakfast bag, she was told it would be charged extra. Frankly, it’s hard to understand what kind of “breakfast” excludes basic coffee — especially at a premium Swissotel. To make matters worse, the fruits provided in the breakfast bag were again not fresh and rotten. Experiencing this twice during a short stay felt less like a coincidence and more like a complete lapse in quality control. What hurt most was the feeling of being disrespected as guests. These may seem like small things individually, but together they significantly impacted our trust and comfort. At a hotel of this reputation and price point, such lapses are unacceptable. Swissotel has the potential to deliver an outstanding family experience, but unless attention is paid to basic service consistency and guest respect, the beautiful property alone cannot compensate. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because we wanted to love our stay — but unfortunately, we left unhappy.

We were in Almaty for a family vacation for a week during the christmas holidays. We stayed in Intercontinental and then moved to Swissotel. The first thought in our mind was why did we even stayed at Intercontinental and did not come to such a beautiful property earlier... the property is beautiful and unparallel... However, the staff interactions and poor hospitality took away that belief within hours of check in. Despite having such a beautiful resort property, it lacks the warmth and courteous staff which made us finally thank God that we did not stay in Swissotel for the full vacation..

t was a special day when I stayed, and the beauty of the resort made it even more special. I stayed on New Year's Eve to ring in the bells of 2026. I must say — It's a Stunning Property! Let's deep dive. 1. Rooms: Classic rooms are small to be honest but great. The Mountain view and the size of the balcony compensates it all. All in all, a great base category room. 2. Location: Not the very best of locations. It's far in the west of Almaty & a 40-min drive to city centre but you don't actually look for 'location' when staying in a property like this. You enjoy the property not the location. So, no problem for me. 3. Service: SUPER! Great & quick response from the housekeeping, room service & every other team. The service is brilliant. 4. Food: GREAT! Tried the Pizza & Pasta and a special Hot tea at the Pool bar. Everything was excellent & delicious! There's no con for me in the food. Didn't have the buffet breakfast included in my stay, so can't comment on that. The property is HUUUGE, spread over acres of land and becomes a winter wonderland during this time of the year. I'll give it a 9.5/10. Spectacular & a must stay at resort!
