So to begin with we were upgraded to a junior suite which was really nice. The food was great, breakfast spread was lovely and the spa centre is amazing. Would highly recommend. Only one down we were booked for a Romantic retreat package through the Accor app which included a wine bottle, bed decor and breakfast in bed. When asked at front desk they seemed unaware of it. Anyway we had a lovely stay irrespective. Location is perfect and staff is polite.

1) I escalated to the duty manager the last day: - as a group we had six rooms for 4 nights. Including 6 rooms for 3 nights in our earlier stay at Astana. We were horrified with the treatment at Almaty Rixos. Concerns as follows: - towels not replaced during housekeeping; - washrooms not cleaned as part of housekeeping; - glasses/coffee mugs not replaced as part of housekeeping and in general the rooms were not cleaned even with basic expected cleaning; - two nights we dinned at the bar on groud floor. Poor service. Drink and food took forever to arrive. Requested for housewater (just one glass) which was not served, we were curtly told it is hotel policy and you need either buy water or get one from the room. We had already bought water but just needed one glass. Overall, terrible check-in process. Staff were rude and unfriendly. Never again will we consider Rixos and will ask people to avoid a stay here.

Well located hotel with run down rooms in need of renovation

We stayed for 4 nights. On entering the rooms we were surprised to see the carpets had a worn look and requested for a change of room. We saw many rooms but all were in the same condition. The person handling the check in said we could take refund since all their rooms were in similar condition which we felt was rude. Since it was late we decided to take the best of worst room after a brief reiki. Very few vegetarian options at break fast, however the hotel staff was kind enough o make special preparations. The positives of the hotel is the location and view from the balcony.

Lived here from 2014 through 2019 in a Duplex apartment, have to say it’s the most comfortable stay anywhere I have worked around the World. Amenities, food, drink and staff were fantastic. Staff became almost friends in the way I was treated, fantastic people fantastic place.
