Hotel is located right in the heart of the town.The famous Arbat Street is close by and so are many good eating places including some good Indian restaurants. The staff speaks and understand English which is very helpful else in Almaty language can be a big problem. Only problem that I found was that there weren't any amenities in the room like body lotion etc.

Property is a tad dated, can do with renovation. Staff are mostly helpful. Breakfast room a little tight.

Checkin was a breeze but unfortunately, when we arrived, the driver went into the hotel to check if this is the correct hotel so that he can drop our bags at the reception area, but was told this is not the hotel!!!

I would have given them a 4, maybe a 5, because it’s nice, spacious hotel (US style) with smiling people all over the place; breakfast buffet is tasty and has many options, I loved the sunny light that enters the room, which also makes it cheerful. DOWNSIDE: when we came back after a spent day touring Almaty… we found out that our room had not been cleaned at all!…I dialed the front desk to let them know and expected a solution… instead they told me that “their hotel policy is to clean the rooms every other day”.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ????? What???!!! (I just came for two nights)… Of course that policy wasn’t informed when booking, or at check in. Although pricing doesn’t seem to be considering their policies.
