Mercure Parkhotel Mönchengladbach 4 stars

The hotel is nicely situated next to Bunter Garten and Kaiser Friedrich Halle. Unfortunately no pool at the moment. The room has been spacious. However the sofa-bed not comfortable at all. The mattress was way too thin, but after the first night it was changed to an extra bed with a comfortable mattress and much better. The cleanliness was ok, some dust here and there and on the provided coffee machine. The hotel would need a make-over as it has seen better times. The breakfast was wonderful in the Wintergarten! Last but not least, I have to mention that the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good experience overall. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great receptionists. Restaurant and bar service was not so good. On Tuesday, Carnival, there were a lot of people and just to waiters that were very stressed. You should plan ahead this situation.

I checked in advance electronically but when I arrive it wasn't in the system..I informed the reception about my later check out but they were not aware bout that on the next day and call me at 12:00 to check out..the gym was much smaller than in the internet pictures and the wellness was closed...the bar staff was not really polite and was not able to deliver 2 gin&tonic within 15 minutes plus the gin&tonic wasn't as long drink but 1:1 which is unusual...the TV in the room really old even doesn't hive timer in..1 really good thing in the hotel was the breakfast!

The rooms are very convenient, we has one superior room and one junior suite. The junior suite was very spacious, and the superior room was convenient for 2 people. Breakfast offer was tasty, and lots of variety.

Room is fine, breakfast is fine, reception was not very informative at check-in, also I was placed in a room 2 floors above the event room where a party took place on the Thu night... In the room that was extremely loud, so I had to move rooms to the other end of the hotel. Not sure why when you know there is an all night event you put people in those rooms. Same in the restaurant - sound is extremely annoying. Automatic lights on the stairs dont work well - you basically walk in the dark, parking garage is not fitting for this day and age (cars) so most people park outside
