The staff was amazing. They ensured we had many vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast, they packed a very generous breakfast to go for our last day and they were all so kind. Our room was big and clean. The hotel is extremely close to the subway station. Maybe two things to improve: - restaurants and supermarkets close early in the Netherlands so we could not have dinner on our first night. It would be good to give a heads up to the clients, maybe in the booking confirmation email and reminders. - it would be very useful to set up sliding doors between the parents bedroom and the children bedroom.

I spent a couple of nights here for a long weekend trip with family and loved the welcome. Lovely friendly staff at the front desk and offer glasses of bubbles. The location is great for getting around Amsterdam as right next to the station which is just a couple of stops into Centraal station. The room was a decent size and was clean and modern. I liked that we had access to Netflix and YouTube too. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely, beautiful setting and good options. My only downside was the on-request cooked items where on one day was not cooked properly and the next was not available at all. Otherwise everything else was tasty and good coffee. I will definitely recommend and stay here again.

Probably the 5th time we stayed. I am still really annoyed about the data breach. I generally don‘t see the benefit of the unique emails that don‘t align with regular Mercure/Accor tools and which I assume are part of the issue my data was lost. Otherwise we love the hotel/rooms but were not impressed by the breakfast. So overall, we leave with a rather muted impression this time.

my stay here was incredibly frustrating due to some baffling design choices. The room setup completely ignores basic guest comfort and flexibility. There were three major issues during my stay: 1. Unusable bathroom mirror: The mirror is mounted absurdly high, leaving a huge empty wall gap above the sink. It seems exclusively designed for people over 175cm (5'9"). If you are not that tall, it is nearly impossible to use properly. A huge ergonomic oversight. 2. Locked windows: The windows are locked by default. If you simply want to crack a window open for some fresh air, you have to track down staff to unlock it for you. 3. Dictated room temperature: You cannot fully turn off the central AC system. Even if you switch the cooling off, the system forces a baseline temperature of 24°C (75°F). It is presumptuous to assume every guest is comfortable at this exact temperature with no option to adjust it. Overall, staying here means you have absolutely zero control over your own environment. Instead of feeling relaxed, you feel micromanaged by the room’s restrictive, one-size-fits-all setup. I would not recommend this hotel.

The only thing that I didn’t like is that for some reason even if I’ve set the Don’t Disturb screen and they put a paper saying that they couldn’t respect my privacy because Housekeeping? It was only for 2 nights… When you did that, I had to search for everything if it was there and wasn’t stolen(because this is what is in my mind if someone’s enter a room) . But everything else was good quality and good location.

Our room was upgraded on arrival, which was great. However, we had to complain about cleaning service every day. They kept and returned dirty mugs, glasses, and spoons to our room every day, and ignored when I left notes asking if they could please exchange and give us clean mugs since we have allergies, or if I could get a robe of a different size since it was too big for me. My note was simply thrown into the trash. It was awful having to fight every day for clean utensils. Staff at the reception were very nice, but when I complained about it when I left, and said I had to come to reception every day to ask for clean utensils, they said "it wasn't communicated to them properly", which is a lie. This really changed my view of the Mercure group. I never had a situation like this before, even in cheaper hotels.
