The reception area smelled odd. It was a musty mildew smell. The junior suite advertised with a tub had none and it was ill lit. The dark painted walls made it even darker. We had to use flashlights to make coffee. I would also note that there was no cream for the coffee and the coffee used was not replenished for the next morning. We had expensive drinks at the bar that seemed to contain no alcohol. Although the location is grand, the hotel property was really disappointing!

I have received your complaint about your stay in our hotel from 04/01 to 06/01 2025 in our room 223 and I am sorry not to answer you quickly. First of all, I would like to offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused during your experiments with your room. Despite our good intentions, I am sorry to be not up to your expectations with us. I am truly sorry for this situation and know that I and my manager will think about this problem and find out some solutions. After apologizing I am very happy if you can allow me to offer you some commercial offers to gain your trust with us. As a gesture of goodwill, I propose, and of course with great pleasure, to invite you for a night in one of our Deluxe rooms with 2 breakfasts and 2 glasses of champagne in your room on arrival. Please contact me by e-mail to inform me the date you wish to come to the hotel Aigle Noir and let me take care of your stay. Wishing my proposal to be accepted, I apologize again and remain at your disposal by mail or phone for any additional information and all future requests. We were only here for one evening to attend a concert at the chateau but so enjoyed our stay. The staff was lovely and very helpful. We added the breakfast and was so glad that we did. It really made for a wonderful start to our day touring the chateau.

The lady on reception welcomed us after we had phoned from a nearby hotel...she solved our problem as the other hotel would not accept dogs (even little ones)....we were welcomed, made to feel comfortable....very professional and such a relief as we could have had no booking in Fontainebleau that night....
