The hotel is dated and needs modernisation, such as: outlets to charge electronics, a central switch close to the bed to turn on/off the light, a support for the suitcase, space for toiletry in the bathroom (the sink rim is uneven), the commode was old and full of marks, etc. Breakfast was ok, nothing special for a 4*hotel, overall very disppointing

We love the location, but our room had several deficiencies. First of all, in 201 there was only one bedside table that had a lamp, the only other lamp in the room was a lamp on the desk. No lighting in the ceiling, thus very dark and we asked for another lamp and got a very ugly one, totally different from the style of the room. The air conditioner did not work, the panel fell apart when we tried to set it. There were too many annoying sounds from maybe a deficient aircondition system, and also a nearby elevator or some other noise that came on regularly. The bathroom smelled slightly of sewer. In the hall leading to our room there were ugly traces of old leakages, with swelling skirting boards and flaky paint that had not been fixed. When we came down for breakfast Saturday, admittedly late, about 10.20, there was nobody to take any orders, no plates left, only saucers for the cups, and no scrambled eggs left. Sadly this gave the impression of a rundown hotel driven by former glory.

There is no proper restaurant with cooked food. The recommendation to eat nearby at Bistrot des Amis was a poor one. The service at that Bistrot was bad. L'Aigle Noir bar closed at 10pm when it was advertised to close at 11pm. The instructions to not smoke in the rooms should be made a lot stronger.

I was recommended to stay here for a work trip, it looked lovely and I was excited for the stay. Location was great, rooms were below average. One in my work party had a very small, freezing cold room; I had a larger room with no air conditioning (both thermostats in the room did not work, and one was barely hanging on the wall). There were holes in the walls, areas where wallpaper was peeling down from the ceiling, and bedside tables have multiple water stains. Rooms are outdated and lacking proper maintenance. We visited the bar daily and staff acted as if they could not understand us asking for rose wine, then when pointed to the menu could repeat rose just as we said. The older bartender is quite snooty. The first night the (younger) bartender also had to create our charcuterie board, then we had to go find him to pay our bill after waiting for quite some time (no second drink was offered). There were 2 front desk staff we saw. The young lady who registered us was very accommodating, however, the more mature lady and a gentleman (who appeared as if a manager) never greeted us on multiple occasions in the lobby. Cleaning staff were excellent! Breakfast is way overpriced for what you get; we purchased it once and ate elsewhere all other days. I would not stay here again and would not recommend.

The ‘Aigle Noir Fontainebleau - MGallery Collection’ is a charming boutique-style hotel with a retro aesthetic, though it appears to be in the midst of renovations (no official notice was provided, but some areas were covered). The front desk service is friendly but slow, so don’t expect efficiency if you’re in a hurry. The rooms are undeniably charming, clean, and well-maintained, though the property as a whole shows signs of wear. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown, with quality far below what one would expect from a 4-star French hotel. While not a ‘bad’ stay, it doesn’t justify its price tag, especially when nearby alternatives offer better value. I wouldn’t stay again as it stands, but if renovations are completed in the future, I might reconsider. For now, though, I can’t recommend it.

My wife and I stayed at the Aigle Noir Hotel for 3 nights whilst visiting family just south of Nemours. There is a large underground car park comprising 3 basement floors (chargeable). Finding a parking space was no problem. You can go in and out of the car park as many times as you like - just remember to get the hotel reception to 'validate' your ticket each time so you don't have to pay at the barriers. Our room was superb. We'd asked for an 'accessible' room as my wife was on crutches having recently broken her leg. Breakfast was included which was excellent - a good choice of cereals, fruit, bread & pastries, juices and coffee. The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful.

The hotel is ideally located for the Château Fontainebleau. The room was comfortable. The breakfast however was very poor. The coffee was bad. The choice of food was limited and what was available was not great. The crêpes were dry and hard. Would suggest wearing a mouth guard before attempting to eat one. Would strongly suggest not getting breakfast in the hotel. The bathroom smelled. Like there was a sewerage issue.

While the GPS directs us to the hotel, you can't get there with your car. You need to park your car in a public parking garage and carry all your luggage to the hotel where nobody bothers to help.

Very well located - right next to EVERYTHING that a tourist would want. Good buffet breakfast. Clean. The bathroom was a good size but I found the room a little small.
