Kehinde O. Solo - Confirmed reviews ALL

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding a very distressing experience I had during my recent stay at IBIS Fontainebleau. On two separate nights during my stay, there were unexplained knocks on my hotel room door. On both occasions, I asked who was there and received no response. On the first night, I also noticed that someone attempted to open my door handle, which prompted me to immediately double-lock the door for my safety. On the second night, shortly after another knock, I received a call from the front desk. The staff member on duty informed me that he had knocked earlier, that I did not answer, and that he had left a handwritten note on my door. I told him I would check it. I waited for some time before opening the door, retrieved the note, and immediately secured my room again. Upon reading the note, I was extremely uncomfortable and alarmed. The contents of the note were were traumatic. Shortly after, the same staff member called my room again. I politely declined the interaction, but he continued to insist, stating that he “did not mind.” This insistence was frightening and entirely inappropriate, especially given that I was alone in my room late at night. To avoid further contact, I disengaged and ensured that my room phone remained unavailable. Despite this, the same individual returned to knock on my door again at approximately 10:40pm. Later that night, I also received an email from him, which confirmed to me that he was unwilling to respect clear boundaries. The cumulative effect of these actions left me feeling unsafe, anxious, and unable to sleep for most of the night. I spent hours awake, fearful, and even found myself searching online for any prior safety or assault-related reports connected to the hotel. This is not an experience any guest should have, particularly in what should be a secure and professional hospitality environment. The staff member involved identified himself as Elois (if I recall correctly), mentioned that he is from South America during a short chat upon my return from my trip on the second night. While it is possible that such behavior may have been welcomed by other guests in the past, it is completely unacceptable for hotel staff to initiate or pursue personal physical contact with guests in this manner. As a member of your staff, he should understand and uphold professional boundaries at all times. I am in possession of the email he sent to me and can also provide a photograph of the handwritten note left on my door, should you require them for your investigation. I am writing this complaint not only out of dissatisfaction, but out of serious concern. I hope this matter is treated with the urgency and gravity it deserves, and that it is brought to the attention of the General Manager, Ms. Valérie Asselineau. I would appreciate a formal response outlining how this issue will be addressed to ensure the safety and professionalism of your guests going forward.

Nice hotel in a centre of the city. Quiet surroundings, friendly staff, acceptably clean. Only problem being that there is a constant noise coming out (in intervals of 10-15 minutes) of, I suspect, ventilation system. Quite annoying if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, quite happy with my stay.

Dear, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the overall atmosphere of our hotel and found our staff to be friendly. I regret that the noise from the ventilation system affected your comfort. We appreciate your comments, as they help us to continually improve our guest experience. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future for a more restful stay. Sabrina B. Assistant Manager Ibis Château de Fontainebleau

A pleasant hotel with vibrant public areas and a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The room was comfortable although the bathroom was rather dated, poorly lit and had a fusty smell. Noise from outside (lift mechanism) was noticeable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

We appreciate your feedback concerning the bathroom and the noise, as we continually strive to enhance our guests' experiences. We hope to welcome you back soon. Best regards, Sabrina B.
