Nice hotel set back from a busy road near T2. Easy access to the trains and airport. Car park a little confusing to get to and when you park, you have to walk around past the Voyager to get to Tribe. It was okay in the Summer but imagine in winter with heavy luggage! Also if I was a woman on my own it might be a bit scary exiting the car park. Lots of high bushes around! Check in was fine. They didn’t put your name on the key card cover or the date, just a room number. It wasn’t busy at the reception when I checked in so this could have been done. I met my daughter before my flight and we sat outside in the sunshine. It was warmer outside than in as the air conditioning was cranked up so far that the bar staff were cold. We got a couple of drinks and wanted to eat outside by the entrance. We don’t get a lot of sun so when it’s here it’s nice to enjoy it. Eating outside seemed to cause a bit of an issue and the waiter had the food put into takeaway cardboard boxes. No cutlery came with the food so we asked for some and it came promptly. I don’t know if it’s company policy to not allow outside dining! When I got to my room the cover to the card reader was broken. One of the plastic hooks inside had been snapped off so this needs replacing.I was in rm. 525. Entering the room I immediately noticed it was primarily for disabled guests. It was okay for me as I was travelling alone, but I would have liked to have been told. Not particularly nice for a romantic evening with the red cords hanging near the bed, toilet and shower. I did have a beautiful sleep as the bed was comfy. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Nice greeting from a lady in the restaurant. Although they must have missed plenty of room numbers as when a guy came in I noticed some guests left to their own devices and no room numbers taken as staff not on the door./desk. Go to The Weston in Scarborough to see the attentiveness.
