Not really a spa, hotel swimming pool with jacuzzi. Very few bed and no comfy areas so nowhere to sit. Very warm. Noisy as lots of kids using pool and floor areas very slippery. Staff are nice but photos arent really reflective of what it is like. Grounds are nice.

The room on the 1st night was £193. There were cobwebs everywhere, no handles on the wardrobe, screws hanging off and a smell. The bathroom had blood on the tiles and mold in the corners. We were moved and paid the wedding rate for the 2nd night. There was a large black moth squashed to the ceiling above the bed. Unbelievably, my son was allocated the 1st room which was still in the same disgusting state. My other son had blood stains on the duvet and carpet. Breakfast was poor- no butter, no bacon, no orange juice, no jam, stewed and cold coffee. All these things were brought to the attention of management who could ‘only apologise’ and that’s exactly all they did. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in and it absolutely should not be trading under the Mercure name.

Lovely venue. The bar in the function area was not open for a few hours so had to walk to the other end of the Hotel for drinks. The food was very small portions almost like aircraft meals. No Yorkshire pudding with the turkey dinner The room was very nice and had an intimate feel fir special occasions so a shame the food would not bring me back there. Impressed with the staff although needed more staff to be able to move the food from kitchen to table to ensure it remained hot. The staff were very hospitable and made the function extra special.
