We had to change our travel plans due to a cyclone coming into our home town. We phones and managed to change the night we were staying. We thought. The next day the situation with the cyclone looked worse so the morning if the day we were going to book in out of courtesy I phoned to notify the hotel we wouldn't be staying. They then told me there had been no change. The booking was a no refund. No offer of another night even given we weren't staying solely to make sure our family was safe. And you lose the points of you booked partially with them. So the hotel pays boohoo attention to your status our your loyalty. And they probably got to book the room for another person. Loyalty means nothing.

Whilst I appreciate the hotel offerings, I find the servicing of the rooms lack lustre. I left my room at 5am daily, returning at 5pm to a “just cleaned room” with glasses not washed one day, pillow cases left on the floor the next, no laundry slips, dusty room. The breakfast is also very poor at a $40 price rate. Packet scrambled eggs, sausages, greasy overcooked bacon and mushrooms which were inedible.
