We stayed 2 nights and found the hotel in a good position to explore Perth and to get to Rottnest island. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable but is in need of updating.

We had a need at short notice for a night in Perth due to flight cancellation and booked Mercure Perth on Hay. The staff member who greeted us was friendly and helpful. However the rooms are really old and tired, the bathrooms desperately need refurbishing and for one night it was OK, but Accor really need to upgrade this hotel which is in a great location.

When we got to our room, we were greeted with yellow stains on the walls in the bathroom, what looked to be pus dried into the mirror, stains on the bed sheets, and room didn’t seem to be vacuumed… raised it with staff but nothing was done. Won’t be back.

Dear Aidan, Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I was extremely concerned to read your comments regarding the condition of your room on arrival. What you have described the stains in the bathroom, marks on the mirror, stained bed linen and a room that had not been properly vacuumed is completely unacceptable and falls well below our cleanliness standards at Mercure Perth on Hay. Please accept my sincere apologies for the condition of the room, and equally for the fact that when you raised these concerns with our team, no effective action was taken. That is disappointing. At a minimum, the room should have been immediately re-serviced or an alternative room offered. The lack of follow-through is not reflective of the service culture we are working hard to maintain. I have shared your feedback directly with our Executive Housekeeper and Duty Managers so this can be investigated thoroughly. Cleanliness is one of the most fundamental expectations of any stay, and we clearly failed to meet that expectation on this occasion. While I understand your decision and the frustration behind saying you won’t return, I genuinely regret that we have left you with this impression. Should you reconsider in the future, I would welcome the opportunity to personally oversee your reservation to ensure a vastly improved experience. Thank you again for bringing this to my attention. Clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The location is slightly away from the city, but the bus stop in front of the hotel makes it very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.
