Lovely central area. Room was basic but very clean and had everything you need. Nice hot shower with good pressure. Went out for the day and came back to nicely made beds and clean towels. We had both dinner and the buffet breakfast. Staff at both were attentive and helpful, food was well cooked and presented.

I was very happy with my stay at the Mercure on Hay. I have a couple of points that may help and are not meant to be negative in any way. I did notice that the breakfast was a lot of food and not many were eating so would "cook to order" at a reasonable price be more efficient and less wasteful? There are two Mecure's on Hay Street this did create some confusion.

Staff were very friendly, which made up for the tiredness of the establishment. Room was reasonably clean, but bathroom needed more attention with some dust and small pieces of debris around the edges of the bathroom floor. Had breakfast at hotel one morning - no breakfast bowls, took a while to have them restocked and get someone's attention. Room size was good, bed and pillows comfortable.

Very run down hotel desperately needs a renovation Breakfast was very unappealing for such a high price
