Lovely central area. Room was basic but very clean and had everything you need. Nice hot shower with good pressure. Went out for the day and came back to nicely made beds and clean towels. We had both dinner and the buffet breakfast. Staff at both were attentive and helpful, food was well cooked and presented.

I normally stay at the Mercure nearby in Irwin Street but because of the Ashes Cricket had to stay here (only around 800 yards away) and everything went smoothly with my four day stay.

The facilities are really worn off: bath tab is so dirty and discoloured, it is really scary even to step into it; toilet seat is painted with water paint which is peeling off, mattress is very uncomfortable. The reception staff is incompetent, charged my personal card instead of the corporate card that was provided for the accommodation, although personal card was only provided for incidentals. Very disappointed with this stay.

The hotel is in a good position but the bathroom needs a remodel, but the breakfast was a mystery it was closed one day and had very little to offer on the other day. So don’t bother having breakfast.

Clean accommodation that was suitable for my visit with friendly staff
