The Ibis is brilliantly located for visitors to the Groupama stadium, Lyon. We had attended a Rammstein rock concert and there is just a 10min walk from the hotel to the stadium, just perfect for show time and for coming back afterwards - while all other 60.000 fans need to take their card or wait for the tram to take them back. Be sure to book the hotel well in advance, for the night of the concert event, the hotel had a last minute offer starting at 700 Euros per night (I had never seen such an amount on an Ibis panel!). The staff was just wonderful, extremely friendly and always available for answering questions, giving recommendations where to go, etc. A big thank you to the whole staff including the reception, room cleaning services, everybody! The room is simple (no safe, no fridge, no real wardrobe, etc.) but clean and the bed is large and very comfortable. The bathroom is large and very nice and modern. It is a bit annoying to be located to closely to the highway - with an open window (we couldn't do otherwise during the hot summer nights), it is really noisy. It is easy to go to Lyon downtown (10min walk to tram, then 10min tram and 15min metro), easy to go to the airport (15min walk to main station Meyzieu, then 2min tram and 10min train (RhoneExpress) to the airport; tip: book the RhoneExpress ticket via internet in advance and you save 1 Euro or so). There is a wonderful and giantic natural parc near the hotel, approx. a 10min walk (my recommendation is to walk to the seaside restaurant "TIKI au bord de l'eau" and to turn east along the water front, it's magnificient to have a walk, to go for a bike tour, etc.). There are nice restaurants just next to the Ibis, we tried the wonderful Catalan place ("La Boqueria - Restaurant Catalan & Bar à tapas à Meyzieu", it's amazing!) and the Brussels style restaurant Leon which is also very good.

The staff was nice, and they were very helpful. On Sunday night, the employee who was tending the bar, making pizzas until the early am hours and tending the registration was extraordinary!! Range of foods for petit dejeuner was good. Clean hotel and comfortable beds.

We absolutely loved our stay here, from the amazing “Swiftie welcome” including a delicious local treat to the cleanliness and hotel accommodations. They had a bar in the lobby, offered breakfast in the morning and pizza at night, and had lots of games/activities to keep busy in the lobby. Although it was too cold for our stay, they also have a pool that I would have loved to utilize had the weather permitted! It was a great stay for the night of the Taylor Swift concert and being able to walk to and from the stadium was amazing!
