Driving down from Roscoff (Brittany), we arrived around 45 minutes too early for check-in. The budget part of the hotel was unstaffed, so we popped into the Styles part - this was not a problem for them, they opened up early to give us our room and welcome us to the hotel. They were very helpful indeed! The hotel itself is in a great location, with the town of Cognac around 30 minutes walk away and various shops in very close vicinity. If the walk is too much, there are regular bus services into Cognac. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel. The Styles does have a swimming pool, but I am unsure if you can use it if you are staying in the budget, although you can walk through into the styles bar and use that. Breakfast is the usual high standard for Ibis Budget, with plenty of choice from a continental style breakfast - the staff were very pleasant, helpful and were always making sure everything was topped up and neat and tidy. The whole hotel was very clean and in good condition. Long or short stay, we would recommend the hotel for an overnight or longer stay in the area.
