It's in a good spot for Marvel Stadium but otherwise it's not super clean, the bathroom is pretty gross, and lacks basic amenities like glasses

Also, as the apartment has 2 bedrooms to accommodate 4 people, in the lounge there were only 2 armchairs - a couch that could take 3 persons or more is not too much to ask for.

Checked in online, received several emails and phone calls asking for time of arrival and did we need parking. I sent an email advising we had given ETA and that we were coming via train so no parking was required. I received an email response apologising and advising all details had been updated only to then receive another email a couple of hours later saying parking was no longer available!

When we arrived, we were asked to wait as housekeeping was not finished on our room. When we were told we could go up to the room, we walked past 2 mattresses in the hallway. Then upon entering our room, we were met with a mildewy smell, all the linen on the floor and no mattresses on the bed. We rang reception who told us housekeeping would come and sort it, someone came and put the mattress on the bed and took the linen. We had to call again and were told housekeeping was coming with linen, 20 mins later they came and asked where the linen was. another 20 mins or so later they finally brought the linen and made the bed. Other than this the trip was great, but that initial hour is one of the most important to me in terms of staying in a hotel and this put a very sour taste in our mouths.

I was advised that I had been upgraded, only to discover upon entering the bathroom that the room was a disability-accessible room. This did not feel like an upgrade. Furthermore, given my previous experience, I would have expected my profile to be flagged with a preference to avoid triangular-shaped rooms. Despite this, I was allocated room 329. As a corporate customer, I would have expected a more personalised level of service and greater attention to my previous feedback. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of those expectations.

I have stayed several times at Peppers being an ACCOR member. Has always been comfortable and friendly. This last stay though, the bed was extremely worn and springs jabbing. Last two times breakfast was very average but his time the water for a cuppa was really cold and hard to get attention of staff to provide fresh boiling water and even though tables seemed clean, very sticky and food on floors. The food was like rubber and far from satisfying, so wont be taking option next time.

Peppers provide spacious comfortable rooms in a great location for Southern Cross, Docklands and the stadium. Staff are helpful and were good enough to re check us into our room at 8am when our train was unexpectedly cancelled meaning that we had another day in Melbourne. This allowed us to get some additional sleep after leaving early in the morning. Very welcome and appreciated!

A dinner meal service would have been nice. Access to the gym before 7 am would have been much preferred. The issue with being unable to replace the light bulb over the tea/coffee area was disappointing
