this was a great place to stay marred only by the fact I returned from being out at 3.30 am and couldn't find both room keys if I hadn't randomly bumped into the security guard who called reception for me I dont know how I would've gotten into my room because the door to reception was locked and there was no one visible to wave to or anything

Loved staying at the seibel docklands! Ve eh short walk to marvel stadium and we just jumped a a short tram ride to the dfo! Very friendly and helpful team - we will stay there again!

We recently stayed at The Sebel Docklands and overall had a pleasant experience, with a few areas that need improvement. The location was a real highlight, close to some fantastic restaurants, and the nearby tram line made getting into Melbourne incredibly easy and convenient. The views from our room were outstanding, and all staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. Parking was also readily available and very convenient, which made our stay even easier. One standout positive worth mentioning was the honesty and responsiveness of the staff. I accidentally left behind my engagement ring, which had fallen from the bedside table. When I called to report it, the team acted immediately, the ring was quickly located, and my family was able to collect it within the hour. This level of integrity is outstanding, especially as I’ve stayed in other hotels where even small items left behind were never recovered. However, there were a few issues that impacted our experience. There was a strong chemical smell in the hallways, which we suspect may have been from carpet cleaning, but it was quite unpleasant. We had prepaid for breakfast, which included a set menu (starter, main, and beverage) at the café in the building. Unfortunately, there were issues each day, most notably, the mains consistently arrived before the starters. More concerning was that the menu provided to us did not list an ingredient that I am highly allergic to, despite it being included on the standard menu. This is a serious oversight. On departure, I attempted to raise these concerns with management, but was told they were too busy to speak with me, which was disappointing. While there were some great aspects to our stay, particularly the staff’s honesty and the excellent location, the service inconsistencies and lack of responsiveness at checkout left us feeling somewhat let down.

The Capri Café is privately owned, and while we coordinate closely with them to support our guests, this is certainly not the level of service we expect. We have since raised your feedback with them directly to ensure greater attention is given to order accuracy, menu clarity regarding allergens, and service timing, and we trust this will not be repeated. We also apologise for the chemical smell in the hallways during your stay, which may have been related to maintenance or cleaning works. We understand how this would have impacted your comfort and will ensure this is better managed moving forward. We are also sorry to hear that your concerns were not addressed at checkout due to time constraints. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we will reinforce the importance of ensuring all guest feedback is acknowledged and handled appropriately.
