It was a 2 day stay. I usually get an upgrade and as a gold member, a card with a welcome amenity usually is found in the room. I was never upgraded (if unable for an upgrade, at least tell me that it was unavailable) There is no welcome amenity. I still liked the room. It feels regular for someone that pays a yearly fee for accor. Oh well. Maybe next time.

The hotel is well located on the Esplanade, with plenty of dining options nearby, so it is easy to enjoy meals out and explore the area. Our 2bedroom room was spacious and perfect for our family to stay comfortably. The jets on the bath were not working so unfortunately had a spa bath without the bubbles! The amenities were great and staff were always welcoming and helpful. The outdoor swimming pool was very cold so we made the short walk over to the Cairns Water lagoon and that was just right.

We found the staff helpful and pleasant We had a room on third floor with the esplanade view which was lovely the room needed an update quite old looking, but was clean, we ask for a room up on the high level and they gave us a room on the sixth floor with a city view was quite nice to watch the city lights. The room was a bit more modern.

The room was dated and dirty (bathroom particularly) and there was no bar/ restaurant onsite which meant that after a long day of travelling we went to bed without any food because we were exhausted and didn't have the energy to go to an offsite restaurant. The only saving grace was the delightful reception staff who were friendly and helpful.

We appreciated being able to walk to the Museum, Art Gallery, Wharf, Restaurants, Aquarium, Casino etc. Our accommodation was comfortable particularly clean with great views and the best location. The customer service offered by all staff particularly Barbara who went the extra step made our stay even more enjoyable.
