Extremely Disappointing Experience We booked our stay at Mantra Circle on Cavill expecting a smooth check-in at 2pm. Instead, our room wasn’t ready until 5pm. We paid for 20 hours of accommodation & only ended up getting 17 hours resulting in a 15% of our booking time lost. We had no prior warning to expect any delays. To make things worse, all seating had been removed from the foyer, so there was nowhere to sit. Had we been informed ahead of time, we could have made alternate plans. The reason we booked this accommodation was because we had a paid Christmas party departing at 5pm. Because the room wasn’t ready, we were late — which had a ripple effect on the entire event. This was incredibly frustrating & costly to us. We asked the manager if we could upgrade to get a room sooner or transfer to another Mantra property in Surfers Paradise (we were happy to pay extra) but were told that every Mantra on the Gold Coast was fully booked. Given all of this, we believe a refund (not a credit) is fair & appropriate for the time and value we lost. Overall, really disappointed. This experience fell far below expectations.

Upon check in we were told from 1pm we could not check in, fair enough as check in is 2pm, checked again at 2pm as we already filled paperwork out. It was not easy and they could not give us a time. Checked back at 3pm still not ready, other people in the same boat HOWEVER Schoolies kids were getting all their rooms… Then went up at 3:30pm and told them we have an event to go to at 4pm, they advised us we may not be able to get our keys till 6pm+. We had to get changed in the carpark in the car as we had no where else to get changed. The manager on duty couldn’t care when other people had to publically shower in there shower up the top of the motel. We then went up one more time and told them they will have to put our keys in a late check in box as we won’t be back from our motel till after 11pm. They eventually got the keys in the after hours box at 8:30pm. When we got back, after hours was an easy check in. However we didn’t get to enjoy our views from when we got to check in. Upon check out the next morning the manager that was there, Adam was very understanding and offered us a full refund of our booking. Adam was very nice and helpful and easy to deal with.
