It's important for me to book a room i know that suits my family, and the staff let me choose a room before i left home, 1000km away, so i could relax and look forward to going away. I don't like being told what room on what level i will get when i arrive. I love to know beforehand. 2 small faults with the room, the toilet cystern was leaking and making a dripping sound all night long so i had to turn off the water tap before before going to bed. And the front doors facing the ocean had a significant air leak on the back on the back side of the sliding door, so when the southerly wind was blowing it made a loud howling noise. I'm sure maintenance could fix both of those items easily. Additionally, the beds are on rollers, and the floor is hard flooring, so every time you get into bed, they move. When you try and sit up in bed to read and lean against the wall, the bed just rolls away into the middle of the room and you basically just fall off the back of it. Some plastic cups under the 4 casters of the beds would stop this. I noted this same issue a year ago when i stayed, and it's still a problem now. Having said that, i will be back again as i like the location, so does my kids and wife.

I booked this accomodation about 10 months early knowing it would be busy for the Pacific Airshow. I booked a deluxe ocean view with 2 double beds but was hoping for a high floor and one fully facing the ocean so we could see the air show from our balcony as in the early request in the booking. We got ocean views but facing north only and only on level 9 out of 30 odd floors. We saw that they were charging around $3000+ for a room weeks leading up to the weekend so assume they reserve some of those rooms with better views for the people who pay more not the ones who got in early. When we arrived on the Friday afternoon the lifts were broken from the carpark which is not ideal when you have kids and a pram. It also took us about 20mins to find a park as the carpark is part of the paradise centre public car parking and only 1 level so parking was a bit of a challenge. The carpark also has multiple dead ends so not very well laid out. Ended up having to use the Woolworths lifts in the centre instead otherwise you’d have to walk up the carpark entry/exit ramp. There are 5 lifts for the hotel. 2 lifts have access to the basement carpark and as mentioned both were broken when we arrived. Only one was being used the whole weekend. The other 3 were also very busy the entire weekend. The lifts were not very big and had to wait on average 5-10mins for the lifts which also makes it harder if you have a pram. The positives, the room was large, spacious and clean. It has direct access to the paradise centre and is very well located within the middle of surfers paradise which is great but not so much if its over the weekend with the noise from the pubs/clubs becoming very noticeable in the rooms so expect some bass to echo through the room. The hotel would be great during off peak times just may be consider the above during peak times. Definitely some improvements can be made thus the ‘a bit disappointed’ score.
