I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay, which fell far below expectations and did not reflect the premium price paid or the hotel’s reputation as a luxury destination. Firstly, the check-in experience was disappointing, with a noticeable lack of hospitality and professionalism. The welcome was neither warm nor attentive, setting a negative tone from the start. This was followed by a significant delay in delivering our luggage, which took several hours to reach our room. Despite having a proper tagging system in place, I was asked unnecessary questions regarding the identification of my own luggage, which reflected poor organization and service standards—especially inconvenient as I was traveling with a baby and urgently needed our belongings. Secondly, the main highlight of the stay for my children—the pools and aquapark—was a major letdown. All pools were extremely cold and unusable for young children. Despite raising this issue with management, only minimal action was taken, and most facilities remained unsuitable throughout our stay. This significantly impacted our overall experience, as the children were unable to enjoy the core amenities. Additionally, the kids’ club did not meet the expected standards of a five-star resort. The facilities were basic, with worn-out and broken toys, and there was a clear lack of structured activities or engagement from the staff. This was particularly disappointing, as we had chosen the hotel expecting a family-friendly, high-quality experience for our children. Another concern was the hotel’s policy regarding additional guests. Despite booking a spacious suite, we were not allowed to accommodate our nanny without incurring excessive charges. We were asked to pay a minimum spend of approximately $700 per day for her presence during limited daytime hours only, with restricted access to facilities. This policy was both unreasonable and inconsistent with common practices in similar hotels. While the suite itself was spacious and well-designed, reflecting the luxury image of the property, the overall service, hospitality, and management fell significantly below expectations. Overall, this experience was highly disappointing and did not align with the standards expected from a hotel of this category. Unfortunately, it did not deliver the level of comfort, service, or value that was anticipated for a family stay.

It’s not my first stay with Rixos, but Rixos Saadiyat Island Resort was truly exceptional. The service was both very friendly and highly professional, the cleanliness was impeccable, and the quality of the food and beverages was outstanding. My only concern is that, during this stay, there were no activities available and most of the restaurants were closed. This should have been clearly communicated to guests prior to booking.

All was fantastic during our stay. However, the quality of the food at Turquoise Restaurant is extremely disappointing and nowhere close to Rixos standards. I can see myself visiting Rixos Saadiyat much more frequently if the food can have greater variety and quality. But with current offering, it is nauseating to think about having 3 meals a day at Turquoise during the stay.
