Wifi connection was poor--could not connect to work (at both 9:30 pm and 6 am, so it wasn't as if everyone else was using wifi at the same time). Room was in the basement, dark without windows. Breakfast was meger.

We stayed at the Ibis Styles London Gloucester Road for just one night (to attend an evening event), and it definitely met our requirements. The hotel is located a very short walk from Gloucester Road tube station, and less than 10 minutes from the museums at South Kensington - both of these factors influenced our decision to stay there. Where our room was concerned, the hotel had listened to my request to be sited somewhere away from street noise, and we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel, on the 5th floor. We certainly couldn't hear any traffic noise (or noise from the hotel lifts), which was great. However, there was a sound that gave us the impression it was from a generator - it was very noticeable at times (and quieter at other times). We were both glad we had bought ear plugs with us, as this helped to muffle the sound at night. The room itself was undoubtedly small, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We found the room size OK for one night, but we would have wanted a larger space for any longer than that. One detail I thought was rather strange was that I asked at reception for a couple of hand towels, as we had only been given a bath towel each. I was told that hand towels weren't available, and was given an extra bath towel that we could use when washing our hands at the bathroom sink. It would have been really good to have seen a little more variety of tea bags being supplied in the room (there were just 2 of regular tea, and 2 of Green tea, neither of which I drink). Please consider adding Peppermint tea to the selection. Also, the availability of a shower cap in the bathroom would have been appreciated (as I forgot to bring one from home). We both thought the breakfast was excellent - there was lots of variety and the breakfast staff kept the various stations well stocked. The produce also looked to be of good quality. I regularly stay at one of the Premier Inn hotels in central London, and the breakfast we had at the Ibis was definitely superior. Last but not least, all the staff we came across at the Ibis did a good job. I'd like to particularly mention Erica, who was professional, helpful and kind on all the occasions I spoke to her. The reception area was busy at times when I was there, but Erica kept a smile on her face and she speedily and efficiently sorted out a couple of minor issues for me. Thank you, Erica.

This is my second stay of eight days at the property, the first being the same time last year. This stay was not of the same standard as last year. It would be unfair and unreasonable to compare the Ibis to say, the Pullman St Pancras, where I have stayed many times. The Ibis is 50m from where I was working so it was convenient. However, one thing that should be consistent across Accor properties is how they treat elevated status levels, in my case, Diamond. When I checked in there was no status recognition, I was not offered an upgrade and the room was much smaller than the previous stay when I was upgraded (?) to a very large room on the first floor. The welcome amenity was a single broken chocolate bar and I was told that only the first bottle of water was complimentary; on my previous stay the welcome amenity was three or four large chocolate bars of different types and I was told daily water was included. I reiterate that I am not comparing Ibis with Pullman or Sofitel, but Diamond status appears to hold no significance to the property. Otherwise, the room was comfortable, the wardrobe incapable of storing much as there was a single shelf and limited hanging space. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and I only had one breakfast on the Saturday before I left because... Diamond benefits of complimentary breakfasts don't seem to apply in this property other than weekends.

They respected my request for a higher room and additional pillow. It was the highest level located near a ?conditioning unit which did hum during the night but not interrupting a good night's sleep for me so not an issue. I would say access to a water fountain for refilling larger bottles which don't fit under tap would save having to interrupt reception but kind to help when requested.

The Ibis was a nice hotel, very modern and sleek with a tube theme. The check-in staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. The rooms were small, clean and had everything you would need. However I wouldn't recommend staying on the basement level floor as we were placed here and had to ask to move to a higher floor as there was a strong damp mouldy smell, and the pipes were making a loud dripping sound all night. Once we moved to a higher floor it was great, except the tap in the bathroom wasn't working. The price was good value compared with other hotels in the area.

Around 30 minutes from the centre of London. Close to Gloucester Road underground station. Modern style property. Rooms are clean but small, you get what you pay for. Continental style buffet breakfast. Elena who was on duty on two of the morning's whilst we were there was very helpful and attentive. Good value for money.

I have stayed here several times in a balcony room but booked a standard double by mistake. I emailed the hotel to pay to upgrade and was told they would try to amend when I checked in. When I checked in I was told there was no balcony rooms available and I was put in room 510. When I had eventually found the room (it was incredibly unclear from the lift and I had to drag suitcases by myself up and down several flights of stairs to get there) I was dismayed to see the room was so small in a weird cubby with no proper light and not even enough room for a chair to sit and do some work. There was a very odd smell in the room and rubbish still in the bin. I had an early start so decided to have an early night but ended up not having any sleep whatsoever due to various odd noises and a malfunctioning AC unit. This is a stark contrast to previous experiences and as I have to stay for work regularly I hope I do not have the same tiny room again
