Great for convenience and a roof over your head. I have stayed here many times and have always been very happy with the service however this hotel is rather "tired" and would benefit from a huge upgrade

We booked one night at Novotel for location, but the bare minimum expectation when you stay anywhere is that it’s clean and you can get to and from your room easily right? In this case our room was NOT clean, I walked in and felt sand all over the floor, it was clear the floors hadn’t been vacuumed or mopped from the last guests stay, I looked under the beds and there was months worth of dust and rubbish. I have a baby as part of my family who would be on the floor regularly so it was important to me they were clean, everything else I don’t care about. I walked down to reception and showed photos to the staff who were horrified ( after waiting 15 minutes in line because there were only two staff checking people in during peak check in period) and she said she would get the housekeeping straight in there, housekeeping were leaving just as we arrived back to our room after going out, the floors were not touched. Still sand all over them and rubbish under the beds. I gave up at this point and tired to clean them my self the best I could but I will not be staying at a Novotel again. Oh and sort the elevators out! We ended up using the fire stairs multiple times from the 17th floor with a baby because we had to wait 10-15 minutes minimum for a lift to come, and when it finally did it was full of people. I heard multiple people complaining about the lifts. Looks like only two were running out of 5 during peak holiday period, to save costs? Who knows.

Room service is a dust distribution availability on request. Elevators are not proper maintained and frequently shut down. The pool is dirty and lack maintenance. It is a management issue! Fire your manager! Once and never again.

Enjoyable stay. Facilities were good, staff were great, very impressed with the kids activities the hotel had organised during the stay (Christmas). Room was good - only comment to make would be the bathroom might be due for re-do.

Overall the hotel was good. However we arrived and while getting the keys to the room I noticed they had put is in an entirely different room to what was on the booking and the online check-in in the morning. We needed 2 seperate beds and had booked a room with two separate double beds on the Accor website and when getting the keys it was for a single king bed. Hotel staff said they didn't have the room we booked and that if it is an issue they can cancel the booking. Arriving after 12 hours of driving and pre purchased holiday activity to be threatened with accept the room that is not what you booked or meets your needs or just go find some where else in peek holiday season. Eventually after alot of back and forth we were able to get two single beds.lickily for the hotel my wife couldn't join us and was instead at the hospital with her terminally ill mother so we were able to put up with the small beds. Really not good where you have a room type confirmed in multiple interactions directly with the hotel site and this is your first experience with them. I will be calling multiple times in any future Accor booking to be sure I have the room I paid for. Other than what was the worst start to a holiday I have ever experienced every thing was OK. Hard to feel anything more after the threat of no here to stay so far from home. Hotel is at the heart of Surfers Paradise. It is noisy and for light sleepers this won't be the hotel for you. It didn't bother us and we enjoyed hearing all the action from the entertainment district. Hotel was clean enough and comfortable enough for the price. Parking was better than expected. Shared carpark looks small, but goes way back. Always found something. Overall I would stay again. Will be harassing the hotel several times in multiple times to ensure in the future I get the room I booked and had confirmed. Not a threat to cancel the booking unless I take another room that doesn't meet our bedding needs. If the start of the stay wasn't so stressful then it would have probably been a top hotel. We regularly visit the Gold coast, often multiple times a year and this was the worst check-in experience ever. Which is a shame as parking and other aspects that have been the issues at other accommodation were all done well.
