The evening unfolded from our balcony at the Novotel Surfers, which offered the front-row seat to the annual spetacular beach fireworks! Hotel itself is centrally located and ontop of a large shopping centre, you could not asking for a better location for family holiday. Hotel room and facilities are not new, but it was the ideal blend of convenience, good service and simple comfort with the magical view that made our family stay feel special, even without the fireworks!

Staff. Yash at check in was personable and pleasant. Tanya behind the lobby bar was an absolute workhorse - knowledgeable and efficient. Platinum upgrade: The hotel was fully booked. Didn’t get a platinum upgrade, but did get a phone call the day before saying it wasn’t possible - so that set expectations. We did get an email asking if we wanted to pay for an upgrade - so that was a bit confusing. Pool: we did not see any signage or get any information that you have to pick up towels from the lobby. Pool is on level 5 - lobby is on the ground. On the second day when we picked up towels we were told the pool was closed until 4pm. We could see people swimming in the pool from our room so we went down - it was not closed. Cleanliness: inside the room it was very clean. On the balcony there were nail clippings - the previous guest must have had a good time removing toe nails on the balcony. Location: great location if you want to stay in central Surfers. It is a bit noisey at night until about 3am - and during the day when Brazil was playing in a World Cup game ;) Overall: a really pleasant stay - just with a few minor bumps.
