Overall, I had a wonderful stay as always, but I would like to offer a few constructive observations to help refine the guest experience further.
On a positive note, the general hotel staff was exceptional—around 95% of the team greeted me warmly whenever we passed, and lobby staff proactively offered assistance whenever I was carrying luggage. Breakfast in the main restaurant showed a clear step up in quality, and the entire restaurant team consistently provided warm, smiling service throughout my stay. In the Executive Lounge, upgrading the sparkling wine to Chandon and introducing premium spirits was a fantastic improvement, and the suite welcome amenity was well-curated and very much appreciated.
However, there are several areas where the experience could be refined. While lounge spirits have improved, the still wine quality remains somewhat lacking, and standard Dilmah tea feels inadequate for both the lounge and the suite. Upgrading at least to Dilmah’s t-Series—already available at sister properties like Novotel and Admiral Hotel—should be straightforward through streamlined procurement. Additionally, the suite benefits guide was missing from my room upon arrival.
More concerning were a few operational issues in the lounge. Tableware was frequently dirty, and despite bringing this up on previous visits, unwashed plates are still regularly set out, which is a serious hygiene concern. Staff must inspect dishware before placing it out for guests. Drink preparation was also inconsistent, with my coffee and matcha latte being noticeably watered down on multiple occasions. Finally, service levels among lounge staff were uneven. While male team members—specifically Jures and Kevs—provided outstanding, attentive service, certain female staff members appeared to favor Western guests while virtually ignoring Asian guests.
