As a regular Accor guest, my stay at Novotel Suites Manila at Acqua was a bit of a mixed experience. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room would not be ready for another 1.5 hours. Although I was offered a regular room to wait in, it would have been far better if my actual room had been available. I’d had a very tiring week and was really hoping to settle in and rest straight away. When I finally entered the suite, I was met with a strong odour that resembled a mix of spoiled food and sewage. It was quite off‑putting and eventually triggered a headache. I tried to let it pass, thinking it might clear after running the taps, but by late evening the smell persisted. I called housekeeping around 11 PM, and to their credit, they responded promptly and immediately offered to move me to another room. The replacement room was an improvement, though I did notice a mould stain on the bedsheet. I left a note for housekeeping to replace it with a fresh one. Breakfast was another area that could be improved. The food selection felt limited, and the Filipino dishes weren’t warm enough, which made the meal less enjoyable. The bread heater also wasn’t functioning during my visit. On a positive note, the waiting staff were excellent — attentive and observant. They noticed the yoghurt on the buffet was at room temperature and kindly brought me a cold one instead, which I appreciated. One thing I’ve always valued across Accor properties is the hospitality and genuine care of the staff, and that remained consistent here. The team was courteous, responsive, and helpful throughout my stay. The suite I was eventually moved to was spacious and comfortable, though access to the hotel and nearby shopping centres can be a bit complicated due to the surrounding roads. Overall, there were positive aspects — especially the staff and the generous room size — but the initial delays, room condition, and breakfast experience made the stay less restful and less seamless than I had hoped.

We enjoyed our stay for four nights, the bedrooms were very comfortable, the bed and black out curtains were exceptionally good and the lighting in the bathroom and set up and design of the room very good. However, we were disappointed in the decor, and the finish of the 6th floor Restaurant/Dining/Bar area, it did not look finished and had wires hanging from the ceiling, and the lighting was very bright, and the bar area was stocked with food and drinks that look like they were for sale or storage, making it uncomfortable to sit around the bar area. This is where the breakfast was served, which was adequate, but a very limited western selection - although the egg station was good, but basic. Again this area just did not look finished, but on our last morning, we were redirected to the 21st floor for an even more limited breakfast as the 6th floor area was closed for some maintenance, and maybe it is being finished off? The staff were friendly, but did not seem to be well trained and did not inform us of closing times and when last orders were accepted for the kitchen and drinks from the bar - and there were no signs or information telling us. Everything seemed a bit disjointed, as if the bar and restaurant had only just opened? The small swimming pool area on the 6th floor was untidy and overcrowded with many mothers and children, so not room for hotel guests. The pool was also not very clean due to the number of children and guests who very using it - which was a shame as we were looking forward to relaxing here, but there was no space.

unfortunately the breakfast and restaurant area are still under renovation - therefore breakfast available was cold, - i.e hot foods in kosh was all very cold and not nice... no good coffee, little options... And the area has no restaurants nearby so difficult for lunch or dinner

Since there was an adjustment of the complimentary breakfast then the hotel management should provide extra food to compensate with the poor breakfast served during our stay.
