The reception and maintenance staff were very nice and created a positive experience at the hotel. However, we stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms and there were a lot of low quality features that were cheap or not actually refreshed from the previous install. There were some renovations ongoing in the hotel which involved noise during the day starting from 8 am. Other hotels have usually got in touch prior to the reservation to warn of this as a courtesy, however we were not informed of this until we checked in. The room was lit with cold bright white lighting which can be a little off putting as opposed to warmer softer lighting. The LED strip above the bed was also broken or disabled. Note the water tempering valve may be faulty and the tap in the bathroom put out scalding hot water if turned beyond halfway. This is a definite fault in the plumbing and meant my hands were burnt on several occasions. There is also a loose drain plug in the shower which is hazardous if you unknowingly step on it. My partner accidentally did this and could have lost balance while in the shower. The heater was too small and underpowered. It died during one of the nights and was ineffective at warming the room. The room was quite cold and the bathroom fan was permanently running (not controlled by the lights switch) which meant any warm air was constantly sucked out of the room. There was also mould growing on the seals of the glass windows that are behind the curtains. I would have liked to not have such a long list of things that were wrong with the room and I am also surprised there was so much that was annoying about this stay.
