I had the pleasure of staying at your hotel on a work trip and I can quite happily say I enjoyed my time , The room was Warm , sheets were spotless and shower was amazing I slept like a baby and the staff were incredibly friendly , kind , helpful and accomodating . In the morning I had the pleasure of enjoying the breakfast buffet which was absolutely delicious. A special mention to the lovely server who was there on Wednesday 10th at 8am he was very lovely and helpful

I have stayed at a Mercure hotel in Sydney Australia before plenty of times and that hotel is warm, spacious and has a good feel to it. The Mercure hotel in Wellington is completely the opposite. Personally would rate this hotel 2 stars at best. Purely based on the expectation I had from the photo's online when I booked it. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures online, from the moment I walked it to the main reception lobby it didn't have a very good feel to it. It was very dark and not inviting, the hallway coming out of the elevator to go to the rooms is very narrow and the ceiling height is very low. The hotel has a very claustrophobic feel to it. The staff where very helpful, because after I saw my room I asked if they had any other better rooms. Which they obliged and showed me all the other higher classed rooms, the staff even showed me the newly renovated floor rooms, and I have a very good eye for detail and it is clear to me that the contractor with the cheapest quote won to carry out the work, because it is very poor quality. Needless to say none of the rooms met the expectation I had. Nothing about the hotel had a warm and welcoming feel to it. Whoever picked the colours/design for this hotel failed miserably. I asked for a refund, which the hotel manager had no issue with (refund still hasn't came through on my end as of 6/06/2026). I did not stay at the hotel and would not recommend it to any of my family or friends. I went elsewhere and got accomodation at Accors Novotel in Wellington. For the extra cost this hotel met all my expectations.
