Overall, we had a good stay at the Mercure Wellington. The room itself was comfortable and well presented. There were a few things that could be improved. When we arrived, the heat pump was set far too high, making the room feel like a sauna. The room door also slammed incredibly loudly, which was quite disruptive. At breakfast, we were only given one breakfast voucher despite my booking including breakfast for my boys. Even after I showed the email confirmation, I was told I needed to return to reception to collect another voucher. While we were dining, another guest experienced the same issue, so it seems this isn't an isolated incident. Reception staff should ensure guests are provided with the correct number of breakfast vouchers at check-in to avoid these awkward situations. When we checked out, there was no one at reception, so we simply left our key in the return box.

The room (401) was clean and comfortable but noisy due to renovation on level 2. It was disappointing we were not warned about it either during booking or at checkin or moved somewhere else since we were staying for 3 nights! We chose not to have room services, but expected to have amenities (tea/milk) & flannel replenished and bin emptied like it’s done at other hotels where we choose to do a geeener stay. Some moisture & tissues in bathroom would be nice too. Thanks
