The restaurants sucked - not much selection, and the cheese dip came with no bread or crackers. They should be in that, or at least the person ordering should be told that. Like, who eats cheese dip without something to dip? Just sit back and eat that with a fork. It's ludicrous. I'm not the only one who complained; a guest from Britain thought the same thing. Room service had the same menu as the restaurant. The bar upstairs was too busy for hotel patrons. I wish someone at check-in had told me that if I want ot use the bar, I had to make a reservation today, away from check-in. Why wouldn't hotel patrons actually get to use the bar? Especially when that restaurant is worried about serving bread with a cheese dip. It might be nice to have a drink. I did like the rooms and the staff. They were good. The food and drink definitely need some TLC

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were wonderful, the stay was only let down by the chat bot that answered the phone when I tried to order room service. It asked my name half a dozen times then told me to leave a message…no food ever arrived 🤷🏼‍♀️

We stayed overnight on the way down to South Island and again on the way back up North Island 4 weeks later. Both times we found everyone very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and in the restaurant. Food was excellent in the evening and at breakfast. Lovely comfortable bed, all facilities were great.
