From the moment you walk through the door you are welcomed by great staff who cant do enough for you, the room was lovely (executive King), had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable too. The sweet treats throughout the hotel dont help the waistline but were lovely. The fire in the lounge and the restaurant food were fantastic. A 10 minute walk into the city is fine and lovely to come back to the quiet hotel to enjoy a drink at the bar. The breakfast was great with lots of variety and seriously, the staff were ALL so great. Really a 10 experience.

All rooms have bathroom doors that slide closed. However they all have gaps of approx 5cm at either end so that others can clearly see into the bathroom when the door is closed. Not great when you are sharing a room with a friend or if you want any degree of privacy while using the bathroom. This is not a 5 star hotel!

Disappointed the app asked for my preferences re room, drinks etc then when i asked for sparkling water got still water in my mini bar. I approached the manager who said those preferences are for my NEXT stay.like WTF. I ordered extra sparkling water which of course i got charged for…air con was noisy. Explanation given we have alot of rooms to service so need bigger air con unit which is noisier but i have stayed at other places where you cant even hear it. Disappointed considering the cost

Room was small, especially with 2 suitcases. But was clean, nice rain shower, big TV and a good range of tea and coffee in the room. Complimentary treats and tea in the lobby were a nice touch. Chocolate Hour was interesting just watching other guests make a mess of themselves and the floor, although the little cake slices were nice.

I stayed with Mövenpick with my wife for 3 days at the beautiful Wellington location. On the first day, I opened up the curtains only to find the entire window covered in dirt and dust which was so bad that it obstructed the beautiful view. I went down to the reception and requested for a clean. Later that evening I followed up and I was immediate shown a few alternate options which I politely declined. Including one- with a connecting door where a guest was expected the next day. I expressed my displeasure and advise that they either need to provide a suitable accommodation or compensate with a meal. I also requested to have a conversation with a manager and explained him the situation. The manager was so rude, made me feel unwelcome and raised his voice multiple times and I had to calm him down. His unprofessional attitude has left a very bad impression on the Accor group. He even went on to stay that I should be happy as I was upgraded without even being asked. He offered to throw me a drink and a Sunday.. he went to explain how the Sunday is an excellent one and that it costs $27 and that it will be more enough as a compensation. I explained to him that I’m spending $300 odd $’s a night and would expect a bit more comfort. His attitude and the way he treated was very upsetting and I’m about to request my work travel agent to remove the Movenpick group from their offering. It’s a shame that such a beautiful property will guests due to some
