My disappointment mainly is focused on breakfast that I attended after first night. Really noticed anti Australian sentiments amongst kiwis over past few trips. I would suggest if staff are going to entertain conversation about how they dislike Australians it is probably not at bar while I was queuing waiting to enter breakfast. The large cook thought it would be good to finalise the insult as I left the breakfast room with smart arse remark to wait staff. Not sure she realises conversation carries out into guest breakfast area from kitchen. She could do better concentrating on her role as the food is anything to write home about. As such I didn’t bother going to breakfast on second day and left hotel earlier than planned. Disappointment is that having served in Australian Army I had valued the strong bond between our countries. It is just sad with left wing big mouths that are dividing this bond.

I am truly sorry that the interaction was overheard in a way that left you feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome in the restaurant. I also regret that this experience impacted your enjoyment of breakfast and ultimately shortened your stay with us.
