Prior to Covid I stayed frequently and am only just returning more regularly. Efficient service, high standards and truly the most comfortable bed and pillows. I am down mostly for business so the location is excellent.

We arrived at the hotel in the middle of rush hour and drove straight into an area marked Novotel Parking but ended up in the Valet parking area. The lifts to the reception were out of order so we had to walk along the Terrace to get to the reception. Fortunately one of the staff helped us carry our cases up the road. We were given a room on the second floor with views into office buildings . I would have expected as a holder of an Accor silver card a better view although the room was quite satisfactory. We had two evening meals in the hotel dining room . The menu we felt was a bit limited and the meal just average . The breakfast however was good. The staff we dealt with were always helpful and pleasant

Unfortunately, as we are located in the heart of the CBD not all the views overlook the beautiful part of the city. As much as we would have liked to upgrade you to another room type, the high occupancy of the hotel had the rooms all sold out and left us with no other options on your recent stay with us. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly on your return visit and I will be happy to assist with a potential upgrade to the room you prefer. I also appreciate you comments in relation to the elevators. We do understand how frustrating they have been. The technicians have been working on them and parts they are waiting have been delayed. Wonderful stay after crossing over with the ferry. Really pleased that the duty manager that evening was able to assist another guest with a room, after she was told the hotel was fully booked.

The hotel is starting to look a tad tired. I also note that the picture of the reception area on the front of this survey is nothing like the actual reception area of the Novotel Wellington The Terrace. Disappointing to find that NONE of the hotel's in-room safes were working. Staff were very efficient and helpful. The promised text on things to do in Wgtn never arrived however this is probably an automated notification from Accor rather than the Novotel Wellington. Also disappointing that you can not reserve one of the limited carparks until you check-in - not helpful for those of us who work for a living and hence end up checking in at the end of a long work day & driving several hundred kms. Luckily we managed to get one this trip.
