The hotel is starting to look a tad tired. I also note that the picture of the reception area on the front of this survey is nothing like the actual reception area of the Novotel Wellington The Terrace. Disappointing to find that NONE of the hotel's in-room safes were working. Staff were very efficient and helpful. The promised text on things to do in Wgtn never arrived however this is probably an automated notification from Accor rather than the Novotel Wellington. Also disappointing that you can not reserve one of the limited carparks until you check-in - not helpful for those of us who work for a living and hence end up checking in at the end of a long work day & driving several hundred kms. Luckily we managed to get one this trip.

I flew in to Wellington and went straight to the hotel. Reception staff were very warm, welcoming and able to check me in earlier as the room was ready. The room is very well designed, love the splashes of red and use of lighting gives it a really modern feel. I ordered lunch, Teriyaki Chicken Donburi which was delicious. Dinner, again, was delicious and a good selection of middle range wines (I had the Roaring Meg Pinot Noir). Unfortunately, the Breakfast Service let the hotel down. It was almost expected that I was to know how breakfast worked even though I had not been here before. It was on me to ask questions; Do you do barista coffees? If I want Eggs Benedict which box do I tick or is there a menu? After figuring out that I write my room number down, tick some boxes and find a place to sit. I thought we had it. I waited for a waitress to come take my order of Eggs Benedict only to have to walk up to one of them and ask if they could take my order. Apparently this is done by telling the chef what you want; this is not very clear as a first time guest. After informing the Chef that I would like Eggs Benedict I helped myself to an OJ and a slice of toast. The Mocha I ordered arrived and it was good. The Eggs Benedict arrived, I took one bite and realised that the Chef had prepared it on Crumpets?!? Now, I am fairly new to Eggs Benedict, having only started having them within the last 4 years, however, I have never had them on Crumpets and I can see why. It is awful and would not recommend. I had no time to be able to request a new plate or complain and promptly left to check out. I had to confirm with my friend later whether they had ever had Eggs Benedict served on Crumpets and the answer was a very firm no. Overall great hotel, well situated with good rooms, friendly reception and delicious lunches and dinners. Let down on Breakfast Service and the Chef's idea of a good Eggs Benedict.

Stayed two nights on business. Dined in for breakfasts, used hotel parking. No issues whatsoever and polite and friendly staff. Found the restaurant very small for evening dining so was disinclined to wait. Breakfasts were good - a large pot of coffee on a hot plate would have been a great addition.

Gym space was super small, not really ideal with covid restrictions with distancing. Equipment also very limited. Food was well over priced for portion size, steak was the worst I have had in a long time. Was very disappointed, more then likely wont stay again.

Unfortunately we bound by the constraints of the building. If you do choose to come back, we do have an agreement with Synergy gym, which is a couple minute walk away which guests are able to use. Iron had black goo wrecked my shirt waited four days till it came back from in house laundromat fridge blew up and food in it was ruined, lights in room didn’t work had to swamp rooms in third day. And given a free coffee voucher spent a week for work paid 35 dollars per night for parking no other options for parking available

The beds are super comfy and my room had no outside noises from other rooms or hallways. The lift said it was out of order to Lambton Quay but was not the case so misleading.

Tired property. Needs a ream out. No dinner service. Offered a snack menu prepared by wait staff. Not even a chef on duty Appalling for this standard of hotel. Overall well below what you would expect from a Novatel. As an Accor member I will never stay in this hotel again

We normally stay at the Sofitel in Wgtn, however it's easy when travelling as a family to get 2 x double rooms for us and our 3 teenagers. Location is good - right on Lambton Quay but the hotel itself is very basic and quality of food isn't great. But on the plus side it's more reasonably priced than some other hotels - so, worth the money and good for a family group.

The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and nearly fell apart it was so tender. The location is great, go down in the lifts straight into Lambton Quay. I enjoyed a room upgrade and welcome gift on arrival.

I spent a long weekend in Wellington shopping with a group of girls. We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel as it was central to shopping and quick and easy to get ubers to go out for dinner. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful

Waited 40 minutes for breakfast missing fruit and yoghurt had run out. Lifted receiver for phone in room and very dirty. No shower cap in bathroom. understaffed have been going there for years not sure I'll be going back. I would have have thought in these uncertain times service would have been better considering you cannot welcome overseas guests.
