Our family had a trip planned to Paris for the weekend to visit family, so we originally booked an Ibis outside the peripherique because we wanted guaranteed parking. That Ibis ended up having a system-wide air conditioner outage and temperatures were very high in Paris this weekend. The room was sweltering and we got no sleep, so we switched to Mama Shelter East for the next night which is closer to our family in the 11th, and had great reviews. As an Accor Gold member, I was upgraded to a corner room in addition to the second regular Mama double that was on our reservation. This being a Sunday night before a French holiday, the club directly outside my window, La Fleche d'Or was open until 4am and had patrons on their front patio being exceedingly loud well into the night, including shrill drunk screams and laughing that felt like they were in the room with us. Apparently, Pieg which is an underground music collective, was holding their farewell tour there all weekend, and it was louder and rowdier than most events at this venue. Needless to say, we did not sleep at all for a second night at an Accor hotel, which is always my preferred brand when traveling. My other family member in the non corner room slept like a baby, and had we not been upgraded to this room, I would assume we would have also been much more rested and ready for our last day in Paris of the long weekend. We were offered free parking or breakfast at check out, but hadn't partaken in either, so those credits were not helpful to us. There was a road race right by the hotel the day of check in, so we couldn't even get our car close to the garage, so had to park elsewhere. They made a note in our file not to put us in that room, but no other compensation was offered despite getting no sleep.
