Great design, plrasant stay, but some flaws

Lovely design, but design over function, for example bathroom floods when having a showet in the bathtub, even after carefully adjusting the screen, breakfast was quality, except coffee which was awful and took ages to get a refill, staff at breakfast were just not looking out. Dinner was good, but once we were nearly charged for 2 menues when we had a mai course and menue only. So best to check bill carefully, my husband had already signed. It was refunded without apology. The grounds are lovely, so i would recommend staying. We stayed in a junior suite. Service is not 5 star. SAUNA AND WHIRLPOOL COST 20 EURO PER PERSON. never had this, used it once, ok, but not great. Pool area nice but outside

From the moment we arrived we were really well looked after, the staff couldn’t have been more polite & helpful. Loved the swans on our bed, cakes & selection of coffees & teas, along with the decor & quirky floor tiles, but the pool was full of leaves, there was water under our toilet in the bathroom, the bath plug didn’t seal & our toilet seat was on at a strange angle. These details let the place down for us.

A shame about the aircon

The hotel is brilliantly situated near to the historic town. It is comfortable though a little quirky, but our stay was marred by the lack of air conditioning. We complained but were told to open the window. We did but still passed a sleepless night bathed in sweat.

Form over function

Very disappointing. A triumph of form over function. Renovated by Christian Lacroix in 2014 this supposedly five star hotel is already looking very tired. Cutting edge design may be one thing but when it comes at the mercy of comfort, practicality and value for money, it is another. We checked in to a classic double room for three nights at 207 Euros per night, 20 Euros per night parking and no breakfast. On the day, Booking.com was advertising a rate of 150 Euros per night including breakfast for the first night we were there. There is virtually no storage space in the room – no drawers and a very small and dilapidated armoir that was not deep enough to fit hanging clothes without them being side on. The bedside tables were just wooden logs on end. We requested a small chest of drawers or similar but were given a tatty old tea trolley on which to stack folded clothing. The bathroom was very small, which is of itself not such a bad thing, however in this one the size of the tub was minute, the shower hose was not long enough to reach the wall attachment from the mixer so I could stand underneath it. With the tub being so narrow, the shower space was compromised and water went all over the floor. The toilet leaked, the seat did not fit the toilet and never had. Staff did attend to the toilet leak but the hotel did not have a longer shower hose. The staff were courteous and did try to help.

Cleanliness and soundproofing disappointing

There were some aspects of this hotel that were good; the staff were helpful, the location was central and we liked the pool. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was very disappointing. Upon arrival, there were toothpaste marks on our mirror and bathroom sink and cobwebs around the room. The hallway carpet in the main areas was always filthy and once a dirty rag was left on our bedside table. The noise was also a problem - this was three days kid free for us so we hoped to sleep in. But every morning there were constantly doors slamming and loud voices in the hallways. We stay at Accor hotels quite often and would usually highly recommend them, but we would't suggest Jules Caesar to friends.

We enjoyed our stay very much, excellent room and restaurant. I’d like to mention that we experienced outstanding service on every matter in our stay but in particular I was grateful to the wonderful concierge and his team who repaired my broken suitcase. Thank you so much. The downside was some of the detail which made the hotel feel a little ‘mean’ with resources. There were only ever 2 sugar sachets and no milk with the coffee until I asked. I don’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel where I needed to ask for these things. Also the cotton buds were not replenished. We also thought that there were not enough power sockets for two people needling to charge a computers and phones. The staff did find a solution, so again, thank you. The negroni was good, but perhaps a 5 star might rub orange around the brim and include a wedge of orange peel in the glass... Many thanks for a great stay in a very special Arles.

very good accomodation , people at desk recovered all my requests in terms of room requirements , so my room very comfortable , and generally speaking i love the atmosphere and structure/design of your hotel ; only 3 remarks : 1) I understand the payment for a massage , but dont the payment for the only "spa" usage - 2) my room was fixed with a rate including breakfats x 2 , but i was alone and the desk applied the rate of breakfast for 2 ( even if i maybe used a forfait price and an upgrade) - 3) (for me this is the most important..) I loved the old breakfast room ..to me was most suitable for the morning breakfast and more familiar and "warm " ; take the breakfast in the elegant restaurant hall in my opinion it makes lose genuiness to a nice morning "petit dejeneur" , and also lose charm the the hall of the restaurant (quality of food remained good , but just as impression maybe a touch less then in past)

Interesting building, good service. Upgraded us but did not disclose it was a handicapped room and shower was only appropriate for those in wheelchairs. Just didn't work, no door or curtain

Everything was great, we came late from another hotel which air conditioning was broken, the only bad surprise was the WC which overflowed in the shower at7 am, and we had to change room ... to shower and go to the bathroom, not pleasant.

The room had a septic odor when we checked in. An air ionizer was brought in. The shower floor was very slippery and I did hurt my knee. Doors on shower did not close properly. Very pleasant staff.

I booked three rooms for my family - they were not provided in close proximity to one another. The experience in the hotel was adequate but I would not choose again or recommend. The general/public areas are poor (chairs and tables weren’t cleaned or crumbs/stains when cleared and cords from vacuum cleaners left for public to trip as far too long and left unattended), the bathrooms not totally fit for purpose (water pressure poor, no grab handles where shower is over bath, shower doors didn’t close properly and one also had cigarette burn to the shower tray). Although same paid for each room one was very much smaller and had an odour of drain problems.

The staff is good very welcoming. The Hotel itself is nice , well decorated with a very good location. Room is also fine but nothing exceptional. Breakfast is good. They should use the courtyard for breakfast, diner...it is a very nice place within the hotel but only used by smokers !
