on check in i was told although i am a gold member I was not going to be updated due to 'we are full'. clearly on Sofitel website at 6pm, you could still booked in the 'upgraded' room, so i felt very disappointed at the start of the stay already. The cleanliness of the room can be improved- there were hairs in the bathroom and one hanging off the towel. There were marks on the toilet seat that were oversighted. The bedding, towels and toiletries were nice and comfortable.

Our most recent stay was for my daughters birthday - chocolates at check in and a delightful small birthday cake that was delivered to the room was a lovely touch. As was the blush kangaroos for my youngest child. Rooms are large, extremely clean and well equipped. Excellent size bathroom too. The pool area furniture doesn’t quite match the class of the rest of the hotel and the pool bar was unattended on a Saturday afternoon - no vibe really. For the price point I feel breakfast should be included. Valet parking is great just a tad expensive.

This stay was to celebrate both mine and my wife's birthdays. Before our arrival, I emailed on September 7th to inquire about preparing a birthday cake, but I never received a response. During our stay, I noticed a small cake on the in-room dining menu and asked about the lettering service. she was told it was possible, and they would check and get back to me. However, when I followed up later in the afternoon, I was informed that the staff had already left, and it was no longer possible. I believe they should have informed me of the ordering time limit when they first said they'd get back to me. My Accor Plus membership is set to expire at the end of this month, and after experiencing this level of service at Sofitel, I'm reconsidering renewing it. A more customer-friendly and attentive service is necessary. That said, the restaurant food and service were excellent.
