Was given an apartment at the 5th floor, and a pleasant surprise upgrade. Happy to have found three different kinds of coffee makers (this is Italy!). Kitchen stocked with dishwashing liquid, washing machine tablets. And I loved the smell of the liquid soap. The hotel staff are super nice, very helpful and attentive. What more can one ask for?

The apartment is a bit far from popular attractions, we just uber everywhere. The facilities are basic too, a bit dated but okay. However, staff service is amazing, very warm reception. Special mention to Stefano who was so effective and efficient at his job. There was also a lady at reception who was really friendly, I forgot to ask her name. But she was on duty at the time we checked out on Feb 15. There’s also a restaurant beside the hotel, Ristorante Capperi Roma, where food is good and service is exceltional!

My stay at Aparthotel Adagio Roma Vatican could have been reasonable, but unfortunately the experience at check-out completely overshadowed everything else. The only positive aspect was the early check-in, which we appreciated. Beyond that, the service felt purely transactional. At no point did we truly feel welcomed or experience genuine hospitality. We checked out very early, around 5:00 am. The receptionist did not ask how our stay had been, which was disappointing. What upset me most, however, was when I politely asked about the release of my pre-authorization deposit. He gave me a rushed explanation, turned his back on me, and walked into the back office. From there, he called out a quick “sorry, goodbye,” as if I were disturbing him. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. Additionally, the room amenities were minimal — only two coffee capsules and a small amount of sugar were provided. While not a major issue on its own, it added to the overall feeling of indifference. I had also informed the hotel in advance that this trip was a surprise for my son’s birthday. Unfortunately, this special occasion went completely unacknowledged, which was disappointing. As of now, my pre-authorization deposit is still blocked, and I have no documentation confirming either the charge or its cancellation. Not knowing when the funds will be released — and not having any receipt for it — is frustrating and concerning. Overall, what could have been a pleasant stay ended on a very disappointing note. The hotel should reconsider its payment and pre-authorization procedures to provide more transparency and reassurance to guests. More attention to guest relations and basic hospitality would also make a significant difference in the overall experience.
