We understand how important transparency is, especially when travelling with family. Please allow us to clarify that the pre-authorization deposit requested upon arrival is a standard hotel procedure. The amount is temporarily blocked on the payment card to guarantee any extras or incidentals used during the stay, and the remaining balance is automatically released after check-out according to the timing of your bank institution. Regarding the city tax, unfortunately this is a mandatory local tax imposed by the Municipality of Rome and applies to all visitors staying in the city. The hotel is required by law to collect this amount on behalf of the local authorities. We sincerely regret if these details were not explained clearly enough during your arrival, and we will share your feedback with our team to improve communication with future guests.
