We had a fantastic stay at Mama Shelter. The hotel was quirky, and comfortable with really great facilities. The family room was well set up, with entertainment included. The staff were extremely welcoming.

Chose Mama Shelter because of its location and yet just outside of the crowded centre. Breakfast was excellent and staff was generally very friendly even if at times it was hectic. Enjoyed the room balcony which was south-west facing. Room did not have coffee, tea making facilities even though it would have been nice had they been provided. As an Accor member, our welcome drink was a small bottle of pear juice in the room to be shared between the 2 of us, which was disappointing. At check-out, we were asked to pay the city tourist taxes (again) on top of the booked amount. This was finally resolved after showing the check-out staff my booking details on the Accor app where all taxes and fees have been included.

At the same time, we’re sorry for the elements that did not fully meet your expectations. Regarding the absence of coffee and tea-making facilities in the room, we would like to specify that these amenities are available only in our XL rooms. We understand however that having them in all room categories could further improve comfort, and we would also like to highlight that we always do our best to offer complimentary upgrades to our Accor members, subject to availability; evidently, during your stay, this was not possible. Concerning the welcome drink, we are sorry it did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that the welcome drink offered, such as the pear juice found in your room, is the standard benefit provided across all Mama Shelter properties. Regarding the city tax at check-out, we would like to clarify that this is a local tourist tax set by the municipality. It is a mandatory charge applied by cities to support tourism infrastructure and local services, and it is usually collected at check-out, depending on the booking conditions. We apologize for any confusion experienced during your departure and will ensure clearer communication from our team. Had a wonderful stay at Mama Shelter Rome! The hotel has such a vibrant and stylish atmosphere, with great design details that make it feel both fun and comfortable. A special shoutout to Valeria at the reception, she was incredibly nice, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Even when she was busy, she still took the time to give us great local recommendations, which made our trip even more memorable. Her warm and thoughtful attitude really elevated the whole experience from the moment we arrived. Overall, a fantastic stay with excellent service. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Rome!

Location is convenient with a Carrefour supermarket just down the street and the Cipro metro station a short 2-3 min walk away. Also walking distance about 20 min to Vatican City. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the gym/sauna booking system to prevent it from getting too crowded at any time. Rooftop deck is also lovely. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Rome!
