The hotel service was excellent. Staff were eager to help and provide assistance; the quality of the room was great and I appreciate that I was offered early check in upon arrival. The staff at the restaurant was great during breakfast and dinner, with great suggestions and prompt service. The quality of the cuisine was very good. The location was very convenient and the building was modern and comfortable while maintaining its charm. I will definitely return to this hotel when in Rome.

Fantastic hotel! Staff was outstanding, everyone was helpful and kind. Room was huge by European standards. Super clean and the breakfast was outstanding with many choices. The pastries were very good. Roof top bar provides a great view of Rome. Just as a heads up, it’s about one mile from the tourist spots like the Pantheon with the return trip uphill at the end bd if you walk it. As an option plenty of taxis to shuttle you back if you are beat.

Great hotel, lousy bed

Several good things to say about Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese: 1) Clean (a big postive). 2) Beautiful in appearance. 3) Quiet and relaxing, no kids running around. 4) Breakfast on 7th floor was excellent, as was the view. 5) Staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a couple significant negatives about the Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese 1) Bed. The bed mattress had significant divots/sag which made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep (see photo). A turn or roll towards the center of the bed was like trying to summit one of the 7 hills of Rome. Minus one star. 2) Outlets. A minor thing, but the electrical outlets were so worn (the metal prongs), plugs would not stay secure.

Big Disappointment

It was a big disappointment. The hotel definitely has not 5 star luxury hotel standards. Our rooms were very cold , the central heating was not operating. The hotel offered us small electric heaters ! Overall the staff were not polite and helpful. One of the main reasons we have chosen this hotel was because it was a “Sofitel “ brand. We are platinum members but we did not feel welcome. We have booked 3 rooms. None were upgraded. The breakfast was very poor for the value of money, even for a simple omelette, we had to pay extra. We do not recommend this hotel .

We are truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that we fell short of providing the high standards of service and comfort that you expect from a 5-star luxury hotel and the Sofitel brand. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the issues you experienced with the room temperature. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable, especially during a hotel stay, but the activation of heating systems is regulated annually by the Municipality of Rome and set for November 15th. Therefore, it cannot be turned on before that date. While the electric heaters were offered as a temporary solution, this did not meet your expectations. We are sorry to read that you felt our team not polite or helpful. Delivering attentive and respectful service is one of our top priorities. Regarding your Platinum status and the lack of room upgrades, we apologize for not being able to acknowledge the benefit, but please allow us to remind you that room upgrade is upon availability upon check-in time and being the Hotel at capacity during your stay we were not able to grant it. Your comments are invaluable for us to improve, and I hope you will consider giving us another chance to demonstrate the high standards of hospitality that Sofitel is known for. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. The room was ridiculously small. I will say the bed was wonderful and so comfortable the room was so small that we could not even open two suitcases in the same room
