Disappointed with Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo. Positives: comfortable bed. Negatives: key didn’t work on first day, and on second day. No coffee machine was a surprise, as all Mercure hotels I visited had it. There was instant coffee, teabags, kettle and PAPER cups. No dressing gown or slippers. Aircon was set at 20, couldn’t be changed, it was too hot. The breakfast was the worst of all Accor hotels I visited. Coffee absolutely undrinkable, we brought coffee from cafe next door. Food below average, croissants were not made with real butter. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again.

When you go out from the hotel you see the coliseum! Smooth check in, with a really spacious room! We recommend the breakfast with a lot of choices!

I stayed at the Mercure Centro Colosseo for 4 nights. From my room (603) I could see the Colosseum itself. The Colosseum Metro station is only about 6 minutes away from the hotel, making it easy to get around the city. The hotel is close to lots of bars and restaurants - within a 10, perhaps 15, minutes walk (in the direction of the Colosseum) there is so much choice. It is also easy to walk to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and so on, from the hotel.

the hotel is in a perfect spot, but the rooms and hotel are a bit tired in decor and the standard isn't what I'd expect from the Mercure chain. The staff were lovely though.

I have walking difficulties so using steps was difficult & for wheelchairs I imagine impossible. Having no draws to put spare socks/underwear in was unusual. Breakfast was great in parts - coffee machines, water dispenser, juices, cereal, fruit, salad and pastries but lack of cooked mushroom, tomatoes, beans, hash browns meant there was little for vegetarians to have. As with nearly all hotels these days the toaster took ages. Surprised at only having paper cups in the room for tea/coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful I'd lost my adapter for charging my phone but they found me an alternative one that worked brilliantly. The lift was a bit small and slow.
