The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were wonderful, the stay was only let down by the chat bot that answered the phone when I tried to order room service. It asked my name half a dozen times then told me to leave a message…no food ever arrived 🤷🏼‍♀️

We stayed overnight on the way down to South Island and again on the way back up North Island 4 weeks later. Both times we found everyone very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar and in the restaurant. Food was excellent in the evening and at breakfast. Lovely comfortable bed, all facilities were great.

I loved my whole experience at this hotel. I had booked as a special treat for myself ( rather indulgent as I wouldn't normally stay somewhere as extravagant) The staff were the highlight !...especially at the concierge and bar. The breakfast was amazing ( a bit more limited as I was gluten free but still way more than usual for a hotel). The wait staff in the restaurant were wonderful, extremely attentive, and remembered all my requests around gluten and caffeine free!. Likewise the staff at the bar/cafe where they also helped me with tech questions and other things ( they really went above and beyond) . I had wanted a hotel with the gym ( which was great actually; just didn't have quite the things I used, but I was able to adjust) In the room itself I was a little disappointed that I felt some of the furnishings and storage units ( especially in the bathrooms) were a little tired but the attentive staff ( who realised I was single and adjusted accordingly , and their "little extras" (like "turn-down" of the bed and night time chocolates ) made up for that. The location is perfect as it is a bit away from the main street but easily walk- able to all the things I wanted to go to

A fantastic stay, a beautiful team, so responsive to all of our needs. Really easy from the airport with Uber or taxi. Great breakfasts, quiet location, and yet, close to as much busy as your heart desires.

The stay unfortunately started with me being rather upset and disappointed on arrival at the room. Having observed a welcoming card and two bottles of water I found that the card was addressed to another person and was rather taken back at the offer of two bottles of water. I advised reception of this who replied that they would investigate my concern. Having not heard from them by the following day I questioned as to why the mistake and was finally given an explanation along with an apology and the offer of a food platter which I accepted. On returning to the room, I happened to look in the fridge and found a small platter pushed back on the top shelf which had been there since the day before. Unfortunately, I had not been made aware that this had been supplied. Being a loyal and frequent Accor customer, I felt rather let down with the mistake but at the same time I was glad to see that it was finally corrected and was able to move on and enjoy the stay. As to the standard of the two rooms, I had booked 408 and 410 the cleanliness left a bit to be desired i.e. room 408 was dusty particularly on the lampshades and room 410 floor had not been thoroughly vacuumed. Apart from that the bathroom and toilet areas were very clean.
