Great but a shame the second day started with a cold shower and when making notice this was easily waved away as we shouldn't have given you this room. As if that is my responsibility...

I liked that the hotel was close to the train station, and the staff was friendly. However, the room was dirty when I checked in(hair left in the bed, shower and sink). I only had housekeeping clean once during my stay, and the trash was not emptied. Plus a hole in the wall. I expected better for €100 a night.

Due to delayed transport, I arrived very late, around 0050 hours. I was allocated the disabled access room - apparently "nothing else available, sorry". OK that would not be an issue in itself, however: the shower leaked getting water all over the floor - clearly a known issue as a mop was provided so that I could clean it up for myself... as well as this the room has a door to the adjacent room. No, it cannot be opened from the other side, but psychologically it does not make for a relaxing nights sleep. Pillows are incredibly uncomfortable, I had a sore neck in the morning as they are not flat enough. Underfloor heating in bathroom is on a timer max. 30 minutes, but even when on for that long it never seems to get even slightly warm (this is an issue in all rooms I have stayed in at the Mercure Amersfoort), not just this one. What a pointless system, and makes for a very unpleasant cold floor in the bathroom - made worse by the leaking shower.

Friendly welcoming by Jeurgen and the new colleague. Room was nicely cleaned. Normally I'm strict on housekeeping but it was spotless, no dirty glasses in the bathroom, no hairs in the tub or bed, kettle was had no water in them and bathroom was stainless. Keep up the good work 👏. There was no bathrobe but Jeurgen went up and beyond to provide me with one. Check out was great because I was Greeted by the dream team Jalla and Ilayda (i forgot the guy's name). The regular red bull was finish ☹️
