Two times a year we stay for a long weekend in the Mercure in Amersfoort. Service is good, rooms are excellent and spacious, location is near the centre. Parking convenient and cheap in the parking garage below the hotel. Good value for money!

Really nice hotel. Nice staff, beautiful room, big shower. We really enjoyed it. Unfortunately we couldn't connect the television with Netflix. That is the only thing we were disappointed about.

Great location, but poor sound proofing

There was plenty of well lit parking and the check-in process was simple and friendly. The rooms were very well appointed and the breakfast great. However, the sound proofing of the room we were allocated (603) was terrible. You could hear when people in the adjacent room were using their hair dryer or running a tap, but it was made worse by their loud conversations and music. We raised this issue the following morning and hoped to move rooms, but were told that there was nobody in the room the next night so it should be fine. However, 2 nights later we were woken by loud music from an adjoining room at around 1:30am. There was also a lot of noise from the corridor as the doors seemed to have very poor sound proofing as well. I just could not return to this hotel for fear of having a similar issue. When we checked out and raised the issue again (the third time) the reception staff member was very kind and apologetic and gave us a reduction on our parking charge. But we were exhausted as we just could not relax, so this really did not seem enough.

Funny.. I needed a room in Amersfoort on February 15th, check out on 16th February 2020 Found a room, booked it, found it annoying that your site did not give summery prior to pushing pay, but anyway what could go wrong I entered the correct date. Wrong! There were no room available for the 15thof February and it jumped automatically to the next available date... Friday, February 21, 2020... I received a booking confirmation straight away, saw the dates and called the hotel, all within one minute. The receptionist could not help me out, because it was a weekend...he told me somebody of the reservation department would call me on Monday.... he also told me, no refund, no nothing, and the hotel was full... Never got a call, nor a message..

I have chosen Mercure Hotel again for our business meeting place, your team did not disappointed me. Every staff member with whom we came in contact was attentive. While I am waiting for my business associate to fetch for meeting, one of the lovely concierge offering me a cup of hot expresso coffee to cheer up my day, and It was amazing that I have received the well decorated happy valentines day letter and soft toys on 14th Feb after my business lunch. Nice room but with tqo single beds which take up quite some space in the room. Bedding does not fit each bed properly. Did not acknowledge platinum status at first until reminded. Complimentary use of basic gym next door was appreciated. No option to forsake daily room cleaning in favour of vouchers.

I booked the top suite as per website- that it had a symbol showing 4 people. Upon arrival I was told that the room wasn't suitable for myself,husband and 2 children. The receptionist then spent about 30 mins trying to find out what to do. A very helpful (i think head receptionist) came to the rescue and was extremely helpful but we had to change rooms and ended up paying an additional 130 is Euros to what we had already paid for online. A great deal of confusion - website not very clear- and showed the hotel the symbol that showed. Well the sat overall was very good but just dissatisfied that the holiday cost us more than expected.

The location is very good, walking distance from the old center and very close to the Prodentfabriek. The rooms are modern, the only "negative" is the two separate beds so no kings/queens-size bed. Breakfast is great with a lot of options

Very friendly and obliging staff who want to help and assist you if you have any queries or concerns. We booked a double bed room but found out when we were about to go to bed late on the first night that it was actually 2 single beds pushed together. Also the pillows are not the normal type of rectangular but are square and quite small and not the most comfortable to sleep on. The next day the reception staff kindly moved us to another room with a double bed (actually still two single beds pushed together but this time with a double mattress). However the bed still had two single duvets not a double duvet and the pillows were still the same small square ones. Apparently these type of pillows are the only type the hotel has. Overall, the room was comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was good but the room was quite dark with limited lighting so it was like eating dinner instead of breakfast (this must be a ‘Dutch thing’ with Accor hotels in the Netherlands as we experienced the same ‘darkness’ at the Novotel in Hoofddorp). The location is great as only a short walk to the historic old town and also to the train station (bus stop is also right outside the hotel to take a bus to the train station). Only about 30 minutes by train to Amsterdam and Schiphol airport and 60 minutes to The Hague but the cost of train travel is exorbitant - the most expensive we have experienced anywhere in developed countries. The train fares were 3 times what we pay in Australia! The old town of Amersfoort is beautifully preserved with lots of cafes and restaurants and shops including a museum and some galleries. We dined at a different restaurant in the old town every night. The hotel was reasonably priced and far cheaper than paying the ridiculous hotel prices in Amsterdam. The restaurants were a bit expensive but everything in the Netherlands seems to be expensive from coffees to restaurants to museum entrance fees and tour costs. So you need to budget more for a stay in the Netherlands but visiting it it well worth it and I would recommend the Mecure in Amersfoort.

The reason for choosing darker colors in our hotel, is because research has shown, it makes people feel more calm. Which means much less noise is made in the hallways, which means ours guests can enjoy a peaceful and silent night. We are sorry to hear you have had some problems concerning our beds. It is a pity your experience was not great, because that is our goal with every guest that stays here. Speaking of the public transportation and restaurant costs, it is slightly on the expensive side in The Netherlands. Hearing you speak about Austria, I think we can definitely learn from that! We got offered an upgrade, which is obviously appreciated. The room was new and good maintained, and beds comfortable. One remark: a double room should not have twin beds moved closely together, but a queen/king-size instead. Breakfast was good, and all personnel was very friendly.

We experienced the access of the hotel a little difficult. Missing road-signes what should lead to the parking. In the hotel we were not able to use our Le Club points, and when checking in, the officer was not quite on operational level. (We booked with breakfast, but we were asked to confirm that the booking was without breakfast. The bathroom was forgotten to clean 100%. The Le club privileges, the office-desk they were not aware. (no voucher, no priority) but because of misunderstandings, we received an upgrade in room. Afterall a happy weekend

Just like my previous stay I had booked very last minute, to be near relatives. The airline had taken my hand luggage, put it in the aircraft hold... and then lost it. So I arrived delayed and with only the clothes on my back. Mercure's staff stepped up, provided me with a robe, toothbrush and toothpaste —and human kindness and understanding (not to be underestimated). When my travel bag did finally arrive, hotel staff took delivery and kept it safe for me. During a stay for stressful family matters, it really helps to stay in a hotel where people genuine care and you don't have to worry about anything related to your stay. I am immensely grateful for this and hope to stay with you again in the future.
