Well located, but parking is an issue

The hotel is well located and keeps up with all the Mercure standards. Sadly, my suite had a strong cigar smell so I had to change rooms. The suites are nice, big and with a hot tub for 4 people. Perfect combination for reckless people smoking in the room. The smaller rooms were perfect. 100% mercure style. The biggest issue I encountered is that they claim parking is 13€ per day and it is not. You have to pay per minute if you want to be able to go out and come back. Once you pay 13€, you cannot go out or you need to pay again when coming back which is totally unacceptable. Only heard invalid excuses and apologies which does not justify the hotel not to have a reasonable deal with the owners of the parking lot. They forward the problem to the guests. I ended up paying a lot more (6€ every 2 hours).

The Hotel is clean, in a very convenient location, close to shopping and restaurants. Staff is welcoming and nice. Unfortunately, we lost the internet for 1 day and I could not do any work, and when we ask the staff, they did not help and asked us to call the Internet provider which makes no sense for a foreigner to call ISP providers in Netherlands.

Initially, I was frustrated because of a problem in my reservation. A similar problem occurred the year before. At the check-in desk, I me Kamil. He was wonderful. He patiently and reassuringly took care of my concerns. I was very pleased with the results. All the staff were wonderful, making my stay a sheer delight. I went to the restaurant, but despite waiters going by, nobody seemed interested in seating me or asking what I'd like. The bar man was present, though, and was kind enough to admit that the the pizza in the already slim menue was not made in-house. Beer was good, anyway and friendly check-in and check-out.
